I was looking to understand the relation between the zNodes and the nodes in the cluster that the Zookeeper works with. A simple workflow of what happens when a node joins a cluster, when a node leaves a cluster, when something changes for the node(s) and how that affects the zNodes would have been helpful.

Is it possible to learn how to monitor ZooKeeper pending syncs? I've been struggling for days. I am using JMX prometheus exporter , grafana and prometheus to monitor other metrices.

whats the usecase for ephermal znode? is it covered in the udemy class?very very high level

No it's not. Ephemeral means it's going away on disconnect. Use case is a broker registers itself when it boots up, and if it's killed or crashes, the ephemeral registration automatically goes away
