Note: I believe the prohibition of riba stems from the fact that it completely ignores the financial situation of the borrower. Lender requires amount loaned payed back plust interest, either way. He imposes this because of inflation (that always happens) which reduces the moneys purchasing power, and the risk of the borrower not paying back.

I respect Muslims as any other religious people on earth. I only reject Islam for 1 reason alone. Quran (Injil) gospel is different from the Catholic/Orthodox church. I must reject Islam on this basis. I am not allowed to follow any other gospel. Islam clearly has a different gospel which was developed 600yr after. Its time for Islam to do the same.

No, The church teaches that God has a son and His name is Jesus. The images you speak of including stainglass depict stories. Not everyone was literate and could read. All the images you speak of depict stories in the bible. I already understand all the muslim arguments. I've heard them all. I believe Jesus is Lord and nothing can ever change my mind because I know it to be true. I only follow the original gospel which the church has protected. I will never follow another religion until death.

If there are individual governments that are corrupt, then that is the down to the corrupt governments/rulers of those Countries,& because they are not following the religion. Zakat doesn't go to Sheikhs, people donate it to charities of their choice, & it doesn't even have to go to a Muslim charity, it could go to Christian Aid or any other,as long as they are people in need. in terms of selling something on ebay for more (correct me if i'm wrong) it is not Riba since everything is brought and sold for a profit. The buyer could easily look for other places to buy... What is the ruling on receiving/giving interest in an inflation based economy? If I lend someone £100 and a year later I get £100 back but because inflation was 5%, that £100 is now worth less so I'm losing out. Is it okay to take interest in this situation seeing as I'm not exploiting someone but merely not losing out?

Alsuleiman's assertion that all interest is the prohibited riba does not make sense in the modern economy. Riba is about financial exploitation by unscrupulous moneylenders at the time of the prophet, like loan sharks and payroll lenders today. At that time poor debtors had their land and cattle seized by moneylenders and were sold into slavery, and the prophet wanted to destroy this evil system. Reasonable interest in regulated financial markets is not riba. Millions have benefited by borrowing within their means to buy homes and cars, and thousands of businesses benefit by borrowing prudently. A lot of his presentation is a rant.
