Hi, Jacob. I really appreciate Your video. And You correctly mentioned, that it can get much cheaper. But 650 EUR a month for a dorm? That could discourage a lot of people. That's more like a WU kind of thing, which is also an expensive school. In fact, You can have Your own room for as much as 300 EUR. E.g. in Brigittenau Studentheim, which is by the Donau Kanal, 5 min walk to the Heiligenstadt U-bahn.
@Victoriacruzat4 жыл бұрын
Adamitto i know this is expensive, I am chilean (so is really expensive from that perspective) but I’ve been living in NYC for over a year now and I pay over a US $1000 monthly for a very shitty room in a 4 people apartment with one bathroom, a small kitchen, no living or dining room, so to me, from this perspective, it is very encouraging hahaha (also, I live right next to CU, so I don’t use public transportation, but living in almost any other place would be just a little bit cheaper plus the transportation and time)
@solikilos4 жыл бұрын
@@Victoriacruzat Yes, I know, that NY or London are whole different level when it comes to costs. I just didn't want viewers to be discouraged, because Vienna, is, in fact very cheap (compared to average income, quality of education that it offers, etc.). You just have to search a little. For the price Jacob pays for dormitory, if You are lucky, You can even find a small apartment here (I recently did btw).
@_Hola_124 жыл бұрын
@@solikilos hey! do you recommend websites to find cheap dorm like the one you mention, i am looking for something in Graz :)
@yourlocaltoad51023 жыл бұрын
You can rent a whole flat for less than that. My girlfriend lived in a dorm last year and payd 500€ and now we have a flat together and pay 450€ for 45m2 with a balcony and unter 10 minutes walking distance to our universities. Finding a good flat might take some time, but I definitely would recommend that you try to find a flat or a room in a WG (=Wohngemeinschaft = Shared flat). You can often find really nice rooms for just 200-300€.

Hello Jacob: are you still attending uni in Vienna? If so, may I ask what most students plan to do this September 2021? Do they plan to live in housing in Vienna even if they are studying remotely? My daughter is starting her second year at Webster. Last year she attended classes remit while living here in the US. Webster is planning to be hybrid this year. If that is what happens my daughter says she wants to continue working remotely from the US as she feels the students will just be stuck in their rooms with no ability to go out around the city and to travel. May I ask your opinion about student life during these times if schools are still mostly remote? Thank you. Edward
