That was a great review. Even with all the mods it still was under $30,000. No one can get a f6 typhoon for less than that; let alone adding the cost of bringing the vehicle to an immaculate stage. Ross, you forgot one repair that happens to most of us,, the door lock actuator with its plastic gears.

mate honestly you hit the jackpot interms of cost to purchase the F6. I sure do know the pain of getting a ford properly fixed and tuned! I recently had the FGX XR8 in for a PCMTec Tune, Gearbox service, engine service, tailshaft coupling and an xforce catback exhaust and it cost us close to $4600. the pain of the wallet damage is real! but the smiles per miles is absolutely priceless! the car is at 520hp and drives like a different beast!... all the best mate and keep the good content coming!

Excellent video and a brutally honest one. This serves to inform the community that there is no such thing as the harmfully misinforming “$2k barras”. It highlighted that Maintenance and reliability at high power levels costs money. Increased rear tyre costs will also go up exponentially - although in this case you dont drive it much. But a good set of sticky rear tyres is a must at circa $350-400 a pop. High powered barras chew through tyres. If you don’t play the tyre game - you end up getting Camry performance thanks to wheels spinning- which detracts from the $~10k of power mods

What's most important is you enjoy the end result and aren't in debt. Thanks for going through what you have spent with us. I now feel vicarious relief on your behalf that you sacrificed one pride and joy and didn't end up in a futile money pit. You've achieved well, just bothers me slightly that it isn't a manual that you love. @MrTroytroy3 жыл бұрын
A bold call. Although I get the spirit of what you’re saying though. However just to provide some comparative context on your comments on ‘modify’ and ‘maintain’ specifically. I bought an XX brand 2017 second hand car, drove it to a shop, spent $300 on an E85 switchable tune (car unknowingly already had a 98 Off The Shelf brand name tune), $300 on platinum colder spark plugs, $100 K&N air filter and drove out with 404kw at the crank when starting with 294kw, stock exhaust, stock engine, stock intake and Intercooler, stock brakes, tyres, transmission and suspension. It ran 3.3secs 0-100 and very low 11’s or high 10’s on the street in street trim (depending if you remove some weight). Oil changes and tyres cost me the same as if I had a Barra/FPV. The car obviously costs more to buy than the average FPV but no where near the most expensive FPV’s. $700 to run 10’s - that’s gotta be competitive

Ford's went up in price when they shut down before Holden, and then levelled out when Holden shut down.
