Real Rural Japan

A few times a year we act as hosts for farm stay students from larger cities in Japan who haven't experienced the countryside. This is what we and many people do to show them what the countryside life is like.

Early next year i plan to expand my rural Japan cafe to include rescuing stray cats in my area to turn it into a unique Cat Cafe. Any help is very much appreciated.

I was on the edge of my seat for the least dramatic build up hahaha, I can tell I'm getting older now because I was rooting for it and my kids were like, "what are you talking about?" 😂

Maybe it’s their love of karaoke 👏 and the microphone is part of that.

I lived in Gunma-ken for three years, and seeing this stuff takes me back. These things that you just can't explain to people when you get back home.

Japanese gentleman with mike sharing details of the event in Japanese: conversations continue, no one notices. Steve with mike sharing shoutouts in Aussie: conversations pause, then everyone waves. There is a learning here, but for the life of me, I cant figure it out. 😎👍

That was great. I would have loved an excursion like that in high school. The weather looked lovely too. I love the sound of frogs and birds in your creek area and the sound of a crackling fire. Fun video! Everyone looked happy.

Pro tip guys: Think twice about accepting an invitation to a Japanese wedding. Not only will you have to endure near endless speeches like this, but you'll be expected to fork out 30,000 yen for the privilege.

What are they talking about so much when the students sit there? Guess they train them for the endless meetings you mentioned.

Hello, you're content is amazing, you're giving a good glimps on the rural japanese life. Is it also possible for someone from overseas to come and help on your farm or is it only possible for japanese students?

I don't have a farming operation yet i only supply my own cafe but if you want to travel around Japan doing this HelpX Japan is the best. You don't need a working visa you just do volunteer work, and the farmer supplies you with food and accommodation. I have met quite a few people who have used this, and they all spoke highly of it.
