Great interview Lee! I’ve been in Australia for more than 40 years and as Keegan said you consume anything Toon related however you can - within reason. I don’t watch every episode of every Toon-based pods or vlogs but I watch enough to keep me in the right loops. To talk Toon I talk to my son: Canberra-born but black and white all the way through. When I was working (I’m now retired) for a government lab with around 500 people on site there was a core of real football fans; some Arsenal, a couple of Liverpool and three Toon fans: two Geordies (me and a girl who was was related to Shaun Longstaff by marriage) and one Hungarian. Lots of interesting conversations. Enjoy the rest of your stay. #HTL

I thought it was bad being a mag down in Somerset. Takes me about 5 hours to get to SJP. What's nice about this is other fans like to make us feel like it's only Geordies that support Newcastle and it's utter rubbish. Loads of mags down here and all over the world.

Good lad ,i envy Australia and it's fans ..I've been in NZ for 20 years and literally zero support here ..I had to fly to Sydney to watch the caribou cup final in the pub as nobody here in NZ showed it and there zero interest despite months of trying ..3 grand it cost me !!! Amazed when I got to Sydney and there was probably 1000 in the pub all black white ..in 20 years here in NZ I've not missed one match ..mostly at 3am in the bloody Morning ..howay the lads

The trip was obviously controversial but to be honest the money and benefits the players get week in week out and no doubt first class flights it has been worth it. Brand is all nowadays and growing it will be the only way the club can beat the big six FFP barriers.

Just picking up on what he said about the bickering between fans, unfortunately it's all too real. Its like a competition to some fans who's the bigger supporter and its pathetic. The old 'you're just an armchair supporter' or 'I bet you don't even go to the games'. I never let it bother me anymore and instead I just laugh at it. I've seen more fanatical supporters that live in foreign countries than those that turn up to the games to take some selfies of themselves then sit in silence the whole game then leave ten minutes early to beat the crowds to the pubs. Never let that stuff bother you, just support the club how you want.
