Thanks for the inspiration Gary and Leah. My wife and I recently started reading and listening to scripture in the last two months. We have attended church for years but she really felt convicted recently to lean in more than just “church on Sunday” and suggested we involve the word in our life more than just the weekends. I agreed she was right and that we should not let our busy western life keep us from having a closer, stronger relationship with God. But what we aren’t doing is reading the scripture together so for your video I say thank you bc it has enlightened me that we should be doing this together as one, not separate as individuals. Doing so together will only make it that much more powerful and meaningful to our relationship with one another and God. Salamat at amping guys! Jake

'No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Matthew 6:24-34)

Hi Gary and Leah, I always struggle with the phrase "Fear God" which is generally promoted to fear Gods wrath as per the Old Testament. I tend to view it as understanding my weakness is actually what I need to fear. Our souls enter this world pure, we are made in the image of God, but are corrupted, due to our weakness, by the world around us. Being aware of our penchant for weakness and corruption I know it is encumbent on myself, we are all personally responsible for ourselves, to fight this worldly tendency. By loving God I fear this tendency that I can easily "fall short, miss the mark, sin", the knowledge of that is the punishment (conscience). Live life in the Spirit, strive to always do what is best for your wife, your children, fellow people, society as a whole, and of course yourselves. 40 years ago I read a book, " Life in the Spirit, in Marriage, home and work", by Martyn lloyd-jones. In recent years it has been reprinted, an extraordinary exposition from Ephesians. This idea of fearing the Lord, is far more complex/nuanced than most people realise, a philosophical journey thru life. Cheers Aussie John

Great video Gary and Leah, Marriages that do this are submitting to Gods word and experiencing a greater love for each other!

You guys did a great job on this video!! I love it. When a wife submits to her husband she comes under the protection of God. She is in essence obeying God and putting her trust in God to watch over her and her family. God will honor that. And if the husband loves Jesus and is submitted to Him then when he sees this beautiful humble attitude in his wife he will move heaven and earth to protect her and love her. Even an unbeliever can be won over to Jesus by the beautiful spirit and humility of his wife because he can see the real love of Jesus shining through her. So beautiful! 1 Peter 3:1-6

You are a wonderful couple! Friends, I loved these Bible verses. I also like the verses in the Bible: " In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church" (Ephesians 5:28,29) "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)

Marriage is not a competition. It’s a cooperation. The man and his wife discuss a family issue. They disagree on how to move forward, but the woman, who doesn’t agree with her man, goes along with what the man wants to do concerning that family issue. If it turns out SHE was right, or more right, the man does NOT lose the respect of the woman and should not beat himself up over that. The man has just learned. The man tells his wife she was right or things would have gone better had he chose to go with her idea, and she says something like ‘ok but you didn’t do too bad’. Right there, they have BOTH learned and have shown what a ‘cooperation’ is in a marriage and the man learned, it’s ok to be wrong, his wife still respects, admires and loves him and maybe he should ask more questions of his wife next time, in this example, to better understand HER wisdom and intellect. It’s not a competition. It’s communication, cooperation, teamwork and knowing both want what’s best for the family as a whole, with or without children. I’ve wanted that my whole life with a woman and at 60 I know it isn’t possible to find here in America, sad to say. I have been watching many videos about the Philippines and I am subscribed to a few, including both of their channels, and I have come to my own conclusion that a marriage that is not a competition but instead is a cooperation is found in the English speaking country of the Philippines. I have been praying it’s in God’s will for me to move to the Philippines, be successful living there and find myself an adorable woman/wife similar to Leah. Thank you Gary and Leah for this. These little videos are a great idea and I look forward to these just as much if not more than your individual channels.

Genesis 3:16 "To the woman He said, “I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth; In pain you will give birth to children; Yet your desire and longing will be for your husband, And he will rule [with authority] over you and be responsible for you.” Col 3: 18: "Wives, be subject to your husbands [out of respect for their position as protector, and their accountability to God], as is proper and fitting in the Lord." Titus 2:4-5: "so that they may encourage the young women to tenderly love their husbands and their children, to be sensible, pure, makers of a home [where God is honored], good-natured, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored."

My wife doesn't like to read. I try to get her to read the Bible with me but she only will read once or twice a week at most and only half a dozen verses at a time. She reads her Tagalog version while I read the same thing in English. Sometimes we talk about it briefly but she doesn't like long-winded explanations. She is more willing to sit with me and listen as I pray and she lives her faith, probably better than I do. For example, I'm still angry with the contractor that cheated us while she's moved on from that. I'm praying that we grow together and have a deeper faith. No real fellowship here for me since the churches are all in Tagalog which I don't understand.

Loved the video Gary. Very helpful !!! My wife and I started prayer and reading bible verses together recently. And amazingly I read Ephesians earlier this morning prior to your posting your video . And this evening after seeing your video my wife and I read Ephesians together. God bless you and Leah and keep up the great works!
