As an INFJ personality type, Hufflepuff really would feel like home if I was in the wizarding world. I am proud to have been sorted into Hufflepuff. I do not sacrifice my values for anything, my integrity is my favorite attribute. Come to think of it, this is why I became a nurse and not a doctor despite a great GPA. I value spending time with my patients and seeing them get better from day to day, hour to hour. I want to hear their struggles and concerns and I want to involve myself in addressing them every step of the way. It is hard work and certainly not as prestigious as being a doctor, but it feels more like me to do this. It is fulfilling and I wouldn't change it for money or prestige.

I'm an INFJ and a Hufflepuff too. But that doesn't mean that you can't be at high. In HP world, there are ones who reached at the highest titles as a Hufflepuff. Nymphadora Tonks is the biggest example of them. She became an Auror and died martyr at the Battle of Hogwarts. There are so many examples that Hufflepuff's reach the highest ranks. Being Hufflepuff doesn't mean that you need to be lower. It means that you're side of the good. And if the goodness would have been ruled the world, that means you're the one of the biggest. Because of that, being Hufflepuff is some kind of utopical

When I was about 10 years old, I went to a Harry Potter themed party and there came a time when everyone was supposed to pick their house. No one wanted to be a Hufflepuff so I said, with such determination might I add, I wanted to be a Hufflepuff. Then no one wanted to be Hagrid, so I was Hagrid. I became a Hufflepuff even before I decided what house I wanted to be sorted into, that was my moment of truth. I think it took me a long time to understand Hufflepuff as it did to understand what I truly value most. You're right, we all wish we could be smarter, stronger, cunning. But when you're young and taken advantage of for being kind and selfless, and you feel like everyone takes you for a dumb person or a pushover, it's hard to value those qualities and wish you could become... say, the next Mother Teresa. It took me the longest time but I finally realized that all these years I've been working towards being the exact person that would totally be sorted into Hufflepuff! 😊

On the page for Hufflepuff on the Harry Potter Wiki sight at the bottom it says this: 'The fact that Hufflepuff's secondary colour is black and emblematic of the soil is symbolic of the fact that unlike the other three houses whose secondary colours are those of precious metals, Hufflepuff house is humble, down-to-earth, and enduring, unlike gold, silver, and bronze, which are soft metals that are easily broken or warped. It shows the Hufflepuff house's ability to act as a shield, protecting the precious metals, which in this analogy are the other houses' students, and serves as the humble foundations of their unified strength' I think you captured the essence of the house really well in that statement. Ever since I've read HP for the first time I always hated Gryffindor and Slytherin, always saw them as extremely annoying show-offs and presumptuous jackasses. I always saw myself as a Ravenclaw, since I'm a bookworm and love learning etc. But then, I ended up being a Hufflepuff in Pottermore. And I actually used all my 3 e-mails to register again and see if I had answered something wrong and would eventually end up in Ravenclaw. But I ended up 3 times in Hufflepuff. The I asked my gf what'd she think, and she didn't even bat an eye: "you're a Hufflepuff, for sure". Even as a Slytherin I acknowledge the greatness of the other three Hogwarts Houses and think it's just plain ridiculous to be ashamed of belonging to any one of them. ESPECIALLY my own misunderstood House. The Sorting Hat placed you there for a very particular reason, because you not only embody but value what makes your House unique. ​@@aladdinsane1156 It's not always misunderstanding though. Some of us simply believe that people who value ambition *above everything else* kinda have weird morals. All other houses value something else that justify their success and ambitions. Gryffindors take a stand or fight for something, Ravenclaws invent or study, Hufflepuffs put in the work. And for all of that, they're rewarded. It's like in real life, most people usually focus on being a good professional and THEN money comes naturally. Slytherins though are the folks who think money first - they're the ones trying to sell you a MLM business, the politicians, the CEOs that seek to cut costs and fire people via zoom call, the people that live off renting properties, stock market, etc. They can be super gentle people face-to-face and I'm sure your friends are cool, but they have to understand that they might never get the same level of respect simply because they *usually* don't give back to society in the same amount as they take. It goes without saying that this isn't valid to *all* Slytherins ofc

The way I see it Hufflepuff represent normal good people just trying to do get by, Gryffindor probably like world leaders, politicians, and rebellion leaders, Ravenclaw some of the most stronger minded people who change and create things that change our lives just from their minds, not just scholars and historians and etc. but writers and artists, they create the stories we love, and Slytherin are honestly some of the best friends you can have despite them maybe not trusting so easily, I'd argue they're more loyal than Hufflepuffs and Gryffindor, they probably just base it less on the right thing to do and more what they want to do whether or not it's right or wrong. That said everybody is complicated and still can have traits from other houses, I mean the sorting is literally left to the responsibility of a sentient hat, it's not a very complicated decision, it's based off what the hat says, and if it was just decided by another person instead it'd probably be the same. 🤷‍♀️

@@birdsrneat I don't think Hufflepuff loyalty is based on what is right. I think that the loyalty of those three houses could be sorted a little bit like this: Gryffindor: what is right. Slytherin: what is most advantageous. Hufflepuff: whoever is my people. Then again, saying anything about loyalty of other houses is hard considering it was only mentioned for Puffs. We can't say Gryffindors always do what is right because Peter was a Gryffindor. We can't say Slytherins only do what is advantageous because Snape was a Slytherin. However, try as I might, I cannot find a single Hufflepuff that contradicts the statement that I made about them. That might be because there aren't many of them in the books in the first place, but my point still stands. I agree with your opinion on Ravenclaws. I always loved the idea of Ravenclaws being bad at school subjects but having their own niche where they're considered the masters of the art. Just because someone is smart does not mean they would want to spend a lot of time on something they consider boring. I might even say that because they are smart they might know not to waste time on things that don't interest them.

Well, I don't really fit into all the descriptions on Hufflepuff (hard-working, true, etc). But then I remember that I practice day by day to be better at what I love to do. I don't think I'm true. But I remember that my purpose in life since I was little was to help others in need. I'm very emotional, and I would never tell bad things about my friends. I'm loyal, hard-working, and true to those I hold dear. I'm sorry if I came out as bragging, but what I'm saying, is that you need to stop belittling yourself. We Hufflepuffs, don't show and tell people that we're doing better at certain things. We stay humbled and we let them see our hard-work through what we improved at.

Being in a house doesn’t mean you have all those exact traits, there are kind Slytherins (Professor Slughorn), There are brave Hufflepuffs (Tonks), there are stupid Ravenclaws (Gilderoy Lockhart) and there twisted Gryffindors (Peter Pettigrew). You know, I think people do not care to pay attention and understand what the sorting actually is: you don't get sorted based on skills, personal traits but rather based on the ultimate choices you'd make. It's level of importance you give to this or that aspect both in yourself AND in others around you. Also, I think the HATE towards Hufflepuff is due to the following things. 1. especially in the films, Hufflepuff are more or less non-existent because: 1st. the Harry Potter main plot is majorly about a the Slytherin-Gryffindor dichotomy due to Voldemort being a Slytherin and Harry openly choosing not to be; Ravenclaw house was essentially used to help Harry guess and find stuff because he wasn't the most level-headed and focused person out there and the mysterious riddles typical of Ravenclaw house did help in the search of Horcruxes AND, at the same time, made it interesting because the reader couldn't guess what was being hinted until he/she had reached a certain point in the story. 2. Hufflepuffs are the ones who believe in sacrificing personal gain and ambitions the most apparently- which ultimately means nowadays world where the buzz word is "I, my, mine, I matter, me first, I do whatever I want when I want to" will deem them "losers" as their seeking fairness over selection and visibility makes them less interested in hyping their own success in front of others (they do what they do because they want to and are satisfied in knowing they did that very thing- and not so that they can be recognised by the masses; they are, if we think about it, very strong and not needy of approval). I find all four houses show just this: how important it is to make a choice and how your choices and not your innate abilities shape who you are. It's actually funny how Hufflepuffs would actually despise getting any positive attention based ONLY on their sorting. So, while people are disliking them, what happens is that Hufflepuffs are actually managing not to be judged based on those things... which means their house succeeded in their quest for fairness, humbleness and INDEPENDENCE. Also, as somebody else commented, all those traits supposedly differentiating the four houses are but simply what every one of us has at the ready within themselves, which makes the whole saga deeper.

hufflepuff pride!! honestly when i first got sorted into hufflepuff, i hated it so much that i took multiple different tests even pottermore a couple of times, and still got hufflepuff! eventually i accepted it and i now have some hufflepuff merch, and everytime i go out i try to find hufflepuff stuff, i get excited when i see another proud hufflepuff! we are a strong house, not in any way you'd think but in the best ways possible, be proud hufflepuff, you might have friends who are in different houses, but imagine everyone being friends because of you! as a hufflepuff you bring more people together than if they were friends on they're own!

I never understand the "shame" of being a Hufflepuff, people get so blinded by the popularity of Gryffindor or Slytherin. Now, don't get me wrong, if you belong, you belong...but just wanting to be there because they're popular kills the idea of being sorted. I'm a Ravenclaw, I always felt like one, and turns out I did get sorted into it; however, if I was not a Ravenclaw through and through, Hufflepuff would be my house of choice. It trully sounds like a great, honorable house.

I agree with JK's daughter, everyone should want to be a Hufflepuff. It has always been my favourite house, I have been sorted to it, not only on Pottermore... I feel like I am a fit for Hufflepuff, because of my values. And it is all about the values, as you said. People don't really undestand the core of the Hufflepuff house and the people sorted to it, this video explains the essence of a hufflepuff house perfectly.

i know ur comment is 2 years ago lol but I have to say I am a true Ravenclaw, but I was disappointed when every quiz I took I got Ravenclaw even though I wanted Hufflepuff so bad. I remember telling my cousin that I was kinda upset I got ravenclaw instead of hufflepuff and she was like "you got a good one, no one wants Hufflepuff" but even though i was around 10 yrs old then i still knew Hufflepuff is one of the best houses simply because of the fact that its values included hard work and loyalty, and I always respected Helga Hufflepuff for making her house inclusive of everyone who didnt feel like they fit in the other houses

This makes me so proud of my own house. I feel that most people wanna to be in Gryffindor because the golden Trio are in Gryffindor, its just an opinion lmao. I was like that once, before taking my pottermore test, and i wanted to be in Gryffindor, and after i took my pottormore test and realised i was in Hufflepuff I was s o depressed omg. "It's our choices that decide who we truly are, far more than our abilities" I think its based on values more than abilities. Also I think it sorts based on the persons primary/strongest values and personality traits, not their only ones.Harry could have been in Slytherin, but was placed in Gryffindor, and he belongs there just as much (if not more due to his personal choices) . He also had traits of Ravenclaw if some of the hats comments were anything to go by. I'm a Hufflepuff, but likewise I do sometimes show traits of Ravenclaw and maybe Gryffindor too (if fighting my anxiety disorders to keep them under control can be considered to be brave, my sister thinks so, but I sure don't feel brave, lol), while my sister is Ravenclaw, but also has Slytherin traits Gryffindor: Bravery, chivalry, daring Ravenclaw: Intelligence, wisdom, creativity. Hufflepuff: Loyalty, honesty, kindness. Slytherin: Ambition, cunning, leadership.

This video made me cry. I’m a hufflepuff, I never really realized how true to this category I am. Most of my best friend have always been the one who stands out and I’ve categorized myself as kind of a sidekick in that respect. When I was younger, this is how my dad (an ex Potterhead) explained the Hogwarts houses. Gryffindor-Athletic Ravenclaw-The Nerds Slytherins- (I don't remember, it was something snarky though) Hufflepuff -Tree huggers Now that I'm older and can appreciate the literature and story line more, I decided to see what house I'm in. You know, like we all do, for hours on end. On unofficial websites, I got mostly Slytherin and Hufflepuff, so thinking the Hufflepuff was lame, I'd say I was Slytherin. After growing up a bit and taking the official quiz, I got Hufflepuff, and was mad. After doing research, I had to enlighten my dad because we had both misunderstood. Come to find out, he's a Hufflepuff too, and mums a Gryffindor. I'm proud to be a Hufflepuff, and nothings going to get in the way of that.

I myself am a Ravenclaw, but I can see and respect the good qualities of each house. All houses have good and bad qualities. I always saw it as this: Gryffindor is for the chivalrous, bold, courageous, and daring. Gryffindor negative qualities are that they can sometimes appear arrogant and overconfident and can sometimes bully those less talented than themselves. The can also sometimes be overly competitive. Slytherin is for the sly, cunning, and determined. Slytherin negative qualities are the prejudice against muggle born and half-blood witches and wizards, a willingness to manipulate and use other people to achieve their goals, and narcissism. Ravenclaw is for the wise, intelligent, and true. Ravenclaw negative qualities are that they can sometimes seem like insufferable know-it-alls. Ravenclaws also tend to be more socially awkard than the other houses. Hufflepuff is for the loyal, kind, patient, and hard working. Hufflepuffs also seem to have green thumbs more than other houses and do exceptionally well in herbology. Hufflepuff doesn't really seem to have any distinct negative traits. The only real negative is that they tend to not stand out as much as other houses. Hufflepuffs may or may not have some kind of talent, but they never rely on talent alone. They are always working hard to improve themselves and to improve the world at large for everyone around them. I think part of why Hufflepuffs don't always stand out is because they tend to be very humble. They don't brag or show off their accomplishments the way a lot of other people do. Hufflepuff is a very underrated house and I think anyone should be proud to be sorted into the house that most represents kindness! I personally am just too dang lazy to be a Hufflepuff. LOL Now of course not every person sorted into each house is going to have all of the positive and negative traits of their house. After all we do have kind Slytherins that respect muggleborns, as well as rude Gryffindors that bully others. These are just the very general things that I have noticed seem to stick out the most.

When I took the test and was a Hufflepuff, I was very happy. I mean I felt honored to be considered a pure-hearted person. But when I did research on what it means to be a Hufflepuff, I got a bit sad. The only attribute that I found was "leftovers". I definitely think that the only reason so many people wanted to be Gryffindor was that the main characters were from that house. I mean what about Cedric Diggory? He was a proud Hufflepuff, and helped Harry during the Triwizard tournament. And when Harry was grieving Cedric's death, his ghost simply asked him to take his body back to his family. During that time of being a visible ghost, he could have yelled at Harry or cursed at him for letting him die. But he didn't. He didn't have any anger in his heart. And that's why I'm proud to be a Hufflepuff

When I took the Pottermore quiz and was sorted into Hufflepuff, I'll admit. I was gutted. I adore the books and always thought I'd be a Gryffindor! So you can imagine the shock I felt at being sorted into Hufflepuff. Then I sat and read the house qualities... And I do see myself in the house qualities... I recently left the school I was working at to start at a new school and was pleasantly surprised when many of the students I taught all wrote similar comments in cards about how genuine they thought me to be and that they liked how much I listened and cared about things they were interested in. I have embraced my Hufflepuff nature and I couldn't be prouder to be a Hufflepuff.

The problem in my opinion is that we don’t see much Hufflepuffs in the books nor movies so most people don’t care about this House. But in fact it is the best one, Hufflepuffs are loyal, hard-working, kind and life wise, also even if nobody sees it they are also brave as Gryffindors, inteligent as Ravenclaws and ambicious as Slytherins but unlike other Houses Hufflepuffs are humble. Here’s how I see the houses if compared to real life high school social politics: Gryffindor- athletes Slytherin- bullies/cheaters Ravenclaw- studious/student council/class president Hufflepuff-average student. Maybe shy or an outcast. Blends in the crowd. Probably gets bullied. Loyal to their friends, because that all they have. Advocate for others. So basically, the Gryffindors defend the Hufflepuffs from getting bullied by the Slytherins. The Ravenclaws are focused on their studies and ignore the drama.

I feel this so much. Once I graduated hs and made my own choices, I was “unsuccessful” in my parents’ eyes but I’m so much happier than I was growing up. The stress that came keeping my eyes on the “prize” was too much. I didn’t think of myself as loyal or true but looking back, those traits weren’t highlighted. I am very much both those things, more so than I am smart. It was just that being smart was “my thing”.

in common sense, people thought that who shine early tends to always shine... I did my bright soon as well, people keep telling me, that i'am smarter than most and those things. But i know for sure, i not. Has some research on high QI folks on life progression, they follow some people with high QI in early ages and compare to others with medium QI values. The results are shcoking, but most young high people just did worst than average people, regards of some really shinning points out of the curve. Why it happens? well, people always told for those how smart and bright they are, it kind removes the necessity of nearlyng the learn skill, soo, basic and high school are too easy but entering in college those people not know how to really study properly, putting they heads on a brick wall until it falls down, they just pass from door to door until a really heavy castle wall witout doors comes, others keep doing they normal head hits until it bring a failure and enters, high qi try to find the fucking door endless most the time and regreat the problem dealing until stop trying and back from the wall... I live on Brazil, born here and my QI tests got over the average not a huge genius but 110 is above average here for about 20 points if i'am not wrong. I not properly study even on college here, i always only study what i want and when i really need to solve a big problem that i not understand, because of the poor brazillian coleges public and private, worst public the ones i got... i just have a hard time. One of my main goals in life is make games for living, and was really hard to understand basic concepts of geometry due to never saw that in school or even in college. Soo, yeaaahhhhhh i got a average job type with lucky earning more than average people in some research, but maybe those research only goes for official job listed by government, because i know lot of people that earn much more money doing more commom day to day activies that society really needs and i not against people selling chocolate earn more than me coding all day long, i just not understand why people get soo fucked about it... I have my stuff, want more? sure, but it is okay where i'am right now. If everyone is happy, will be better, sadly some people inverts this as everyone needs to be happy, even if for that we need to destroy someone lifes because who is happy now make us unhappy, really odd reality

Very cool , 10 points to Hufflepuff! I went to Universal Studios and got sorted into Hufflepuff. I was surprised cus i had always thought I was a Gryffindor but I didn't choose it I just thought that's what I should be but didn't really know. I eventually embraced Hufflepuff because it was the first time something sorted me into a house that I chose to accept.. for me.. and not choosing it based off what i thought is meant to be "the best". After learning about Hufflepuff more, I can say I am still truly surprised. Life can be so magical when you realize how great you can be. When you embrace all that you are and know you are exactly who you need to be at any moment in time. I think that's what Hufflepuff is all about. Not necessarily remembering you are the best at whatever you choose to be and do. Rather whatever you choose to be and do is the best, or you wouldn't have done it. You don't need anyone to tell you otherwise cus you'll just agree and end up helping that person anyways and validate yourself to yourself for yourself SO you can help others. By being the best you ,you can be. Everyone is a Hufflepuff but a Hufflepuff is not everyone. Hufflepuff's realizing this as their power is the secret of why there are few of us because we want others to not feel lesser so we call them brave or smart or cunning. If a Hufflepuff chose to be brave it would be a Gryffindor. If a Hufflepuff chose to be smart it would be a Ravenclaw. If a Hufflepuff chose to be cunning it would be a Slytherin. If a Hufflepuff chose to be INTEGRAL(needed, valued, worthy) which entails bravery, smarts, cunning. It would say "I am". Hufflepuff encompasses all the best traits of the other houses and doesn't need to tell you, or show you, they just are. It is part of their character. Now i will go back to Kayfabe, (which is being normal for us Hustle puffs) keep the secret, and ask the double sided question, " who really wants to be a Hufflepuff!?" ;)

Some of my friends and even my Brother describe hufflepuff as "The dumb house that nobody wants to be in" okay, so They dont say it anymore since I've been sorted into hufflepuff, but ik they still think it and whenever I mention it they just sigh and nod as if they feel sorry for me. But hey, hufflepuff is so much more than that! So show some house pride and don't let the muggles get ya down! 💛🖤💛🖤

I did many quizzes etc. I got both huffle puff and gryffindor. But I chose to be a huffle puff and I'm proud to be 😊🔸

so basically...hufflepuff gets a poor reputation because they're egalitarian, value loyalty modesty dedication & honor, see potential in everyone, and don't discriminate. they uphold the deepest humanitarian traits out the four houses and are therefore perceived as "lame." i never realized people were _this_ superficial. that's just messed up. pottermore placed me in ravenclaw, but i always preferred to be in hufflepuff. it's such a good, nurturing, & wholesome environment to become a better person. i'll use all my powers of persuasion to convince the sorting hat to put me in hufflepuff house because everything they stand for resonates with me far more than the other three.

I was disheartened when I was placed in Hufflepuff (by the Wizarding World quiz) but soon came to realize that it actually fit me like a glove. I love nature. I'm loyal and kind. I follow my heart and love animals. Hufflepuffs are great!

I started playing hogwarts legacy. I’m just gonna be true to myself. Turns out I’m sorted to Hufflepuff. The more i read about Hufflepuff values etc. The more I belong in Hufflepuff. In the real world. I’m loyal, hardworking, and compassionate to others. I’m proud to be a Hufflepuff.
