The cold and rain sounds like a fun time (mild sarcasm) loll awesome to see your still enjoying just working on the cars here and there while you cant drive much! here in michigan we've had a bit of snow recently so I've had some fun in a few parking lots 😂 great stuff as usual!!

We had one Saturday of snow, but I was working overtime that day, so I only took some extra time before work to go slide around xD. Luckily it seems we're getting snow next week!

I’ve got some problems with my diesel preheater on my V50. I bought the car few months ago and it was known the heater doesn’t work. I hoped the dealer just couldn’t turn it on because it wasn’t too cold outside so the heater couldn’t turn on. However, it turned out to be a real issue. The winter here in Finland isn’t too cold yet but soon it will be so I need to get it fixed asap😅

I hear you. I went all last winter without it, and there is a reason I finally got it fixed 😅 but they seem to all have trouble after about 10 years, since both my c30s have had it be broken when I bought them.

We have the same +2/-2 weather rn in Estonia, and unfortunately I now have DMF rattle at cold start and until oil gets to 25-30 C (308k km)

Yeah, the cold can do all sorts of stuff to the cars. I visited Volvo and paid them 1500 of my euros to have them fix my diesel preheater, so now I arrive at a warm car and engine every morning, and I can't even begin to tell you how nice that is.

Love seeing the weather differences. We have had a few -29/-30c days so far here in Ontario, and its a winter wonderland now ( a few feet of snow ). What are your thoughts on an aftermarket ( only choice ) remote car starter, for the c30. I have had some good luck with Viper remote starters in a few of my previous cars. I am a bit leary with aftermarket anything, with the c30. I would really like to have one installed, but am getting mixed feedback. Bit more costly with a manual transmission. My concern is electrical, or damage of some sort. Ps. I love your sweater! 🎄 Merry Christmas from 🇨🇦

Thanks :) remote car starters are basically non existent in Europe from what I know, so I know little about it. Here our cars often have some sort of pre-heater. Either Webasto, Eberspacher or Defa is commonly seen. Defa is a cord you plug in, but the others are fuel heaters. I know the V40 CCs came with a petrol preheater here, but I haven't heard of the C30 T5s having one. But my diesel pre heater has a timer that I use to set when I want it to be warmed up. I actually even have an app which I could use to remote start it(the pre heater), but that app is $20 a month, so I don't know that it's really worth it. You can also get remote controllers for remote starting of the pre-heaters. In terms of aftermarket, I think that as long as it is a quality part from a trusted manufacturer, I would probably give it a go if it was something that I really wanted. But yes, being a manual, there's probably a lot more wiring making sure it doesn't start if it's in gear I would imagine. Merry Christmas!

Thank you 👋 Yes, I think the diesel heater and in our case here in Canada, engine block heaters, are a very good idea. In the future, a video of the S60 would be great to view.
