Im a grain farmer myself and I still think the woman of the house is the single most important person during harvest time, if she doesn't bring food to the men in the fields they have to stop, when bad weather is coming you do not want to stop. Kayla, I appreciate what you do for your man because I know first hand what its like, thank you for your hard work.

Love ❤this video, being raised in a farming operation myself and now a John Deere tech this brings it all home, knowing that there are still wives, mothers, mother in-laws etc that still make a good home cooked meal and bring it to the field. God Bless

That must be somewhere other than in the MidSouth. I’ve farmed 53 years and have never eaten a meal like that in the field. During harvest I take two sandwiches. One for lunch and one for supper and some snacks. Everyone on my farm brings their own food. It would be nice to be able to enjoy a meal like that.

I bet this is such a busy time for your family! We have a lot of local farmers, so we see the combines on the road all the time, but I've never ridden in one. Your little one is so cute!

Come from a farm my mother her mother every body's mother made sure the harvest crew got feed and good. Custom couple years on crew the farmers wives would make their favorite dishes homemade everything sausages saurkraut mustard we got fed at noon and early evening they would come out and set up the tables filled with food.

Farm Wife is a misnomer. They are so much more than a “wife” They do it all. Run the house, run the finances, cook the food, deliver the food, clean up and move on to the next task. I spent many days having lunch, dinner and the midnight shack in the field. One of the best meals was when we’d shell corn. Alfred Thompson would be there before daybreak and set up the corn sheller. Farmers from around the area would come to help with the knowledge that when they shelled corn, these same people would come and help them. About 9am the farm wife would show up with Sandwiches and tea/coffee for everybody on a 15 minute break. At noon, all of the farmers wives would show up with a pot luck meal and we’d take an hour for lunch and nap. Back at it and around 2:30 - 3, the wife would have noon leftovers ready for the afternoon snack and break. We’d knock off around 5pm. As the corn crib usually took 2 days, we’d start again in the morning.
