Here in North Carolina there's literally a 90% chance there was a squirrel nearby, believe me i know...as someone who routinely goes places with family and friends that get heartbroken when a squirrel is hit and killed, I've learned to watch for them like a hawk, and those little things are everywhere, so needless to say you've inspired me, once I get out of Trooper Academy and get to draw accident diagrams, there will be a squirrel in every last one.

So happy to hear you say you don't care about weed. I remember 2 years ago all the cops in my town would arrest you for even a gram just to charge you with possession. But now since it's been legalized for medical, and decriminalized in my state(Illinois) my run ins with the police and my weed had only had my stash stepped on and my pipes thrown into the woods. I would absolutely love to see a Video all about the Different types of Traffic stops from Felony stops to a Simple traffic stops and just things in between. I find that people don't understand the aspect of a Officer when they are doing a traffic stop. You see a lot of videos on KZbin about Traffic stops. Couple years back I used to manage a fast food restaurant. I always worked the closing shift meaning I wouldn't shut off the lights and lock the doors until around 1am. My closing shift was tight and after everything was cleaned and put away and the paperwork was done sometimes we would hang out outside and just shoot the breeze for a half hour. It was our way of unwinding. After about 15 minutes of us being out there this Sheriff's deputy pulls up. He walks over to us and asks us what we are doing. All of us are still in uniform and me being the manager I became the spokesperson. I told him we had just got off work and we are unwinding. I explained to him I am the manager. After that he sort of relaxed and began shooting the breeze with us answering our questions and sharing stories. We ended up talking with him for about a half hour and he than admitted that he was bored and just figured he would come over and see what we were about.

In the District of Columbia they don't take a report if both cars are able to drive away. The officers just tell you to exchange licenses and insurance information and that's it.

For us if we are swamped with radio calls we have the two drivers take pictures with their phones of the damage and each other's info and swap phone numbers. This only for minor traffic collisions where no one is injured and the damage is superficial. Because most of the time the police are not need, just exchange your info with the other driver and let your insurance handle it, THAT"S WHAT YOU'RE PAYING THEM FOR.

First time I got into an accident, it was my fault, I only had my licence for a week and I got into a rear ender. Basically I misjudged my stop time during a rainy morning. The guy I got was military like I was and he completely flipped out on me. I was just worried I actually hurt someone. So when my husband the police got there they pulled me aside to talk. I was nearly in tears and worried about the people I hit. Apparently they claimed they were injured to the officers on the scene. When the officers weren't looking the people I hit were laughing and making fun of me about my licence being a week old. What they didn't realize was the squad car camera was on. Luckily no one was injured but my insurance went up after that. The officers were very patient with me and knew I was upset. So lesson learned, watch my speed

Talking about officers who were hit on the side of the road, I had a cousin (second cousin) who was an officer in Portugal (motorcycle officer) One day he pulled somebody over and whilst he was behind their car getting the number plate some fuckwit slammed and pinned him between the two cars and killed him. Could he have done things different I don't know. It really fucked with my dad as they grew up together and were very close. Keep safe man! Especially in the USA where it seems that respect for authority is a thing of the past.
