Hala Madrid ! Zidane doesn’t get enough credit. He turned the same team, that Benitez floundered with, into a squad that won 3 consecutive UCL titles. During Zidane’s first stint, he had no major superstar signings, in fact Real Madrid lost good players to other teams. He was such an amazing player, he commands respect. I couldn’t imagine any player directly challenging Zidane, because he could open up a can of whup ass on them. In 2020, I like how this team is shaping up with some fantastic young players really stepping up. Perez, as President has produced a lot of wins and has set a level of excellence and high expectations.

Zidane has strong personality and reputation, that's the key. As a player, when Makelele was sold and Del Bosque was sacked by Perez, team leader and captain that time Fernando Hierro was released, because he didn't approve the moves. Madrid's golden boy and the next captain Raul who seemingly had the best reputation among fans didn't speak a word against Perez. But Zidane said exactly what he thought about the moves and it was not what Perez would like. Still, he was untouchable and stayed long enough to retire as a Real Madrid player and was brought back as a manager(twice).

Zidane is in a class if his own. Its impossible for both players and Presidents not to have respect for him. He was the yardstick for playing excellence. You just need to go back to 2006 when Zidane came out of international retirement to guide France to the world cup finals. The French players talked of the rumour of his return and when he turned up at clairfontaine , the players went on record talking of the feeling that God himself had returned to guide the team. There is probably no player in the history of the game who consistently took the responsibility to provide solutions for his team. Think back even to his les blues debut. ,2-0 down to the Czech team. He came on as sub for debut and scored the 2 goals to bring parity. This in my view is the background to why he can manage real Madrid so easily. And why he commands huge respect. He is unique as a player and now coach. Imv.

It is amazing the amount of lies passed on as "someone says" whatever. Just to name one, "Some say Florentino Perez has an iron grip on the media". This is blatantly false as long as you read the newspapers. Madrid (city) has two sports newspapers, Marca and AS. For years, AS has been on a campaign against Perez and, as retaliation, Real Madrid players do not give any interview to that newspaper. At the end of last season, Perez called out the director of Marca for lying on Bale's salary. Although Marca has a better relation with Real, for sure is critical and not submissive at all.

Zidane is not often not credited for his incredible achievements by playing man-management card as his only prowess because the fact that's not enough to get team winning trophies, Zidane was a tactician on the pitch when he was playing he was managing the whole team and he made everyone looks better amd now he's doing that as a manager. When Real 4-3-3 struggled because because the BBC werent performing as usual he omitted the wingers played isoc upfront the 3 midfielders to got Ronaldo and Benz as a 9 and falso 9 to transform the tactics mid season to 4-3-1-2 real won the the CL that season even they weren't playing so great and gave isco a life. I think only great tactician can do that and there are many other examples of Zidane tactics influence of the team like the 4-4-2 of this year that brought stability in defence and midfield
@MrWillypanda884 жыл бұрын
he was also the one campaigning to bring back Casemiro, he knew Ancelotti balanced midfield trio was broken when Xabi left for Bayern, and Di Maria, the engine of said midfield trio left for Manchester. He knew even though Toni Kroos have comparable passing skill, he was not as good as Xabi defensively, to be honest, no player plays like Xabi. His solution, bring in Casemiro for defensive duty, replacing Di Maria's energy and Xabi defensive coverage and let Kroos dictate the play.
@amenboughanmi58194 жыл бұрын
@@MrWillypanda88 and he is repeating it again with giving faith to Vede Valverde and implemging him into th midfield trio sometimes in the expense of Modric to bring more agressivity to the play and security to casimero himself since the new trend in midfield is having a very strong, dynamic and both balanced defensively and offensively types of players. In games where we played with casi, Kroos and Valverde real madrid became more solid defensively and more aggressive in transition all of that because of Zidane

At Madrid, you don’t need tactical genius because you probably already have one of the best squads if not the best squad in the world. You just need one thing - bond these players together and perform consistently. Zizou is extremely good at it - making players buy into his ideas and perform on the pitch. Being one of the top 10 best players in football history definitely helps that too. Being a Madridista for almost 25 years, I have seen too many coaches and players come and go. And to be fair, Mourinho did a decent job revamping the squad and especially the spirit of the squad - he arrived with one thing in mind - to beat Barca and he succeeded. And he brought Madrid back to Champions League dominance (Real was famously not able to advance past quarter final stage of the CL for years). I feel bad for Rafa - he is a Madridista through and through - played in the youth teams and started his coaching at Real youth teams too. He cried in the press conference when he was announced as the new manager. Unfortunately CR7 didn’t like him - especially since the old United vs Liverpool days. He could not get the band together to play.

I started getting into Soccer late in life because I worked a very odd schedule and the only thing on TV for my off days was Soccer. I decided that I need to pick a league (England) and find a team to follow through thick and thin (Tottenham) This was 2013, and I was pretty enamored of Gareth Bale and his play. We all know what happened, he landed at Real Madrid. But in the run up to that, I remember watching something about the attitude the Madrid fans had: That the best players HAVE TO play at Madrid, like it was an obligation. The sense that all other teams are inferior, that it was inconceivable for Madrid to lose out on getting whomever they wanted. And if you said a bad word about the club or any of their players, they would just go after you. I just hate the attitude. It's like an Alabama fan on roids or something.

He also played a major part in signing Ferland Mendy who was arguably the best major signing from last summer's window. Militão and Brahím Diaz were signed under Zidane and look like they will be future stars. Your assessment that he is terrible with transfers is just wrong. The reality is that the is the first season under Zidane where the club has actually needed to make transfers, and the ones he has made are largely looking good, and you often can't make the assesment of whether transfer is good within 1 season so its ridiculius to say that he is terrible at it.

At 7:55 no he was brought in to ruin özil's career as the player with the most assist.

That’s madness Jose made Özil , Carlo sold him in 6 months

There was nothing to ruin, Ozil was already a joke big game flop player, I still remember him missing countless chances against Dortmund in the Bernabeu,.
@musab25284 жыл бұрын
Ozil was always a luxury player. If you're losing 1-0 and he's on the pitch you're essentially playing with 10 men instead of 11

Papa Flo is literally one of the few big club presidents who cares about the club and knows how to run one

Dude you should look over the transfers Perez has made over his tenure, imo they are super underrated and were crucial to Real Madrid's success both on the pitch and in terms of finances.

wasi gupito budiarto it’s clear you are a RM hater hahaha. Perez is the biggest and best president in Real Madrid’s history alongside with Santiago Bernabéu. And looking the way it looks, he will end up being the best ever in all football. The amount of young talent Real Madrid has right now in the team, how he has making profit of player’s transfers in the last 5 years instead of thowing money like its trash, and having ready the Mbappé transfer to Madrid for 2021, the future looks brighter than ever in RM.

I can tell you this, literally every football club at this planet wish they had a president like Perez. Some people hate him solely because of some "rumors", and regardless if some of those rumors were correct or not, he's without a doubt the number 1 responsible man for R.Madrid's revival. He cares for his club and it's prestige more than any other president/owner out there and is willing to make the impossible just for the club to succeed.
