I still use two boss rollers, I found them on the Huntspill back in 1996, I use one for my landing net handle to rest on, the second for anytime I need a roller for fishing long down the margin when I want to ship parallel to the bank.

Double bush, so on the tip of a topkit, putting a smaller PTFE bush inside the one already fitted in your pole to reduce the diameter and make lighter elastics work better.

Ive still got an original Boss roller in my shed that I bought in 1998 at the age of 17! Still got one of the free standing bait trays too. Not used either in years mind you, legs and thumbscrews are probably siezed solid - had to WD40 them every time they got damp while fishing 😂

Going for my first open next wednesday,and no lie,I keep my landing net on my right pointing away from me,and I have a v roller,all my tackle everything comes to about £200 😅 if I frame I'll send you the proof 😊

Fishing on a public canal we have to keep towpath free so both landing net and pole rollers have to go parallel to bank so you have to twist them both round 90 degrees to go in and out of the water!

I still have an Octoplus shakespeare box and a preston V roller...eek! Two weeks ago my box sank into the mud and i slid off. The Preston V roller I.ve never had a problem except that I have only one roller and its always too far away, my whole set up would be a nightmare for someone else to use. Thankfully the situation has been rectified, new Preston box and new roller, can't wait!

Cheaper gear is sometimes better than the expensive stuff. Maver absolutely shit everything I've bought maver has snapped, crumpled or split.. best rods on the market .. sonik sks waggler and feeder rods..

Only rod I've ever had snap was a sonik sks waggler on a sub 5lb carp. Best rods I've used have all been under £30 and still use them, daiwa carp feeder, korum feeder, rover & oakwood wagglers

New landing net handles don't break?!? I've had a Preston Response Carp and a Preston Response Match break within a a year of use, the thread fell out of both of them - what you lying for?! 🤣 Now I'm trying a Matrix Horizon X Class to see if they're any better.

@@davidwescott2632 My comment came too soon, too!!!! The Horizon X Class also had the thread fall out the end of the second section, within four uses. It was returned and replaced though, and the replacement feels much stronger. I think the first one ward poorly assembled.

My worst animal encounter was at unsworth fisheries Circa 95, cow wandered over and nailed my ground bait and proceeded to walk all over my set up, other anglers around were just laughing, snapped rod and broken keepnet later and I was in tears!!! 😢😂😢
