Well here is my thoughts on the subject, This is also based how that quote came about, who asked the question for that response, in what setting, and the person who said the quote, what's their area of expertise? and so on.... *You can skip from Middle to the end if you want, but context is the research*... Tried to shorten and simplify: The subject was about the supposed "High functioning alcoholic" the setting was more of a "social, and psychological". Respectful mental health doctors put in their 2 cents and good replies. Then doctor Robert B. Huebner who has posted papers with colleagues in regards to Alcoholism and current treatments, mentioned that said quote "No one", he warns, “can drink heavily and maintain major responsibilities over long periods of time. If someone drinks heavily, it is going to catch up with them." His field of study revolves around Alcoholism at that time. And remember the setting for all this revolves around Social and psychological impact as well as "risks" and "signs to look for" further into the articles, of Supposed Alcoholics, that are in denial of being High Functioning. He offered this quote, a good reply, that Alcoholism, even in individuals thinking they are high functioning Alcoholics will inevitably have negative effects in cognitive functions, social life, abnormal moods and so on. >>Basically a person's social lifestyle and responsibilities will be affected by alcoholism, this is the main point of the quote> Social life and responsibilities will be affected, -!--The quote comes as a response in a social psychological setting revolving around People in denial of being "High functioning alcoholics" SADLY since the good doctor wasnt entirely specific, its more of a "good general response" in the setting it was mentioned "for"> Social, mental psychological effects of Alcholism before it even gets to any physical signs mentioned in the end of the article....

Just to hammer home the point even more, there is no clarification on what 'major responsibilities' are and it doesn't help that most people would have different opinions on what that is. So your best bet is to factor in that it's a generalization of things humans need to live a normal life. The statement 'catch up' is also very broad in the sense that someone can assign any event that stops a person from fulfilling said 'major responsibilities' as the result of alcoholism. His view is very subjective as there has been no proper research group set up to confirm/deny his statement nor should their be one since there are many factors that play into a 'high functional alcoholic'. Personality/environment is a big influence in this as I've know many white/blue collar people that drink or abuse illegal drugs and the results of them 'maintain(ing) major responsibilities over long periods of time' vary drastically. I've known a acquaintance who is a high level manager who does illegal drugs every day during/after work and still maintains a normal work life. As for his health/personal life I have no idea. On the other side, he introduced one of our junior managers to said substances which completely ruined him and eventually led him to be let go due to performance issues and workplace conflicts. tl;dr the quote is vague and no standard has been set to determine what the quote says, both people are arguing their interpretation of the quote while being quite annoying.

A delusional 10 frame spammer who cares way too much in being right about any topic you discuss with him. There's only one person in absolver that is like this. Very easy to figure out

It is fricken hilarious 😂 he is arguing that you can't maintain major responsibilities as a high performance ng alcoholic because of the physical consequences. But that is not what the PHD quote states and it happened way before that
@goofy-___-6 ай бұрын
@@LoneMaestro- i don't know anything about the PHD quote as i didn't look into it enough to give a fair judgement , but it'd be better to look more into the mental aspect of it no ? considering while drunk you can't really control most actions you do (but why argue -_-)

@@goofy-___-well that's the point we are trying to make. Once you gain a bad addiction like alcoholism. You priorities your addiction over your responsibilities.
