a little psa !! weed is NOT addictive. it has no addictive chemicals in it, yet you can become dependent like jayus was. the difference between addiction and dependent is the chemicals. addictive chemicals like nicotine can alter your brain into believing that you need it, weed highs just develop a dependency to were you feel you need it to get through the day with things like eating, sleeping, or just tolerating day to day. both are horrible tho. hope this helped!

@ScreamingandHeadbanging your absolutely right, im not sure how i missed this, yet weed still is not classified as an addictive, but as something that you build a dependency on. i did some more digging and i found that Dependence is physical, and addiction is neurological. weed has little neurological addictive affects, and mainly affects your body. dependency is mainy defined as causing tolerance and withdrawal, wich are a starter is most if not all addictions, but it lacks the neurological affects. you can have one without the other, but as far as im aware, you cannot gain a weed addiction

My dad's mom used to smoke cigarettes and now she's replaced it with mint gum. When she has the urge or even wants to smoke she chooses her mint gum instead. Her husband won't even let her buy another pack of cigarettes and check regularly to make sure she isn't buying them. It's been years since she quit smoking and she never once picked up another cigarette or even anything that she could smoke. She doesn't do anything and she still chews mint gum instead of smoking to this day. When we visit her sometimes my dad will buy a pack of mint gum and give it to her when we see her. It's good to replace your bad habits with better ones if you need to do something to keep your mind off of the bad habit until it eventually goes away.

I wouldn’t say being addicted to marijuana is terrible because all it does is make the person happy and it puts people in a good mood and it helps with physical pain or sleep. I understand though that for her it’s different and it may be affecting her in a way that she see’s as negative so I am proud of her for giving it up since it may not be great for her. Marijuana is addictive to a lot of people though but not to everyone and I say that because I’ve had family members who tried it and I thought that they would get slightly addicted to it like I did but they didn’t. They said that it’s just something that they prefer to do every once in a while so I guess they just don’t feel a need for it like others do. It’s kind of like how I was able to give up cigarettes easily while most people have weird shaking issues after they give it up but none of that happened to me. I am proud of her though and I hope that she’ll continue being strong and I hope that she’ll go out and do stuff because that also really helps to distract the person. 😊🌻

My mum says the first 3 days are usually the worst of it physically, but week 3 is where the cravings really start to hit, the best counter measure is lots of distractions and keeping yourself busy, also treat yourself when you are feeling sad/stressed/angry/anxious, buy snacks you really love or video games or clothes or plants or tiny gnome statues, whatever gives your brain the boost of happy chemicals that you'd usually turn to smoke for. @@alleybaby135 Quitting marijuana doesn’t really have withdrawal symptoms chances are there is some other stress, problem or unhealthy habit that is making it seem like withdrawals but marijuana has medicinal properties that treat everything that has been mentioned. Quitting a hard drug or alcohol addiction can actually kill you if done improperly and if you ever try it again after the symptoms there is a much higher chance it will cost you your life. Marijuana does not do that.

Technically its not actually addictive, but what makes it addictive is the mindset of making it make you feel better. Weed isn't bad by any means, it saves and helps a lot of people, but for those who have a problem with it to the point of never doing anything, being lazy, etc, it can be bad. To each their own. :)

Anything can become an addiction, even things that aren’t “addictive” in the chemical sense. Do something that gives off dopamine long enough and build a habit of it and you’ll create a psychological addiction to it, where even when you decide to quit you’ll have psychological withdrawals due to the lack of dopamine spikes. That’s why it’s always good to try and replace the habit you’re trying to quit with a healthier one as well as something that mimics the physical sensation. Thus why you’ll see a lot of people who quit smoking have a toothpick in their mouth or chew gum all the time. One thing that helped me was ice baths. While a lot of people use that for helping their joints and muscles after a workout, the mental part of it controlling your breathing while in there for 10+ minutes gives you a dopamine rush as well as a sense of accomplishment which keeps your mood from quitting something up. Also smelling salts to almost punish your mind every time it has the urge to smoke, as well as give you a jolt of energy. While these things may end up just replacing those addictions, they aren’t really harmful and make you more energetic and productive. Hope this helps someone.

I think it's a genetic predisposition to getting addicted man. It's not about making it something or whatever. People out there get addicted to eating too much like shit, there is a fetish for everything, a phobia for everything, and an addiction for everything

At first I was going to comment about how hard it is to quit “actual” hard drugs, coming from an addict. But first who am I to tell someone what their experience was like? Two it’s gotta be more difficult to quit something that is sold legally in many stores and most ppl have favorable opinions of it. Like I’d NEVER get sober if opiates were like that, the temptation would be unbearable. Proud of you Bella 🖤

I see it differently. I’m not tryin to be a dick and I understand that ppl that haven’t experienced anything worse than weed are still experiencing the worst they’ve experienced. (My opinion on weed withdrawal aside.) It could be way worse until it can’t because there is nothing worse. And if weed is that hard for ppl then why don’t they taper instead they always do it cold turkey? Your chance of relapse with opiates is literally 99.8% if you cold turkey. Also the legal/illegal argument. I always found weed when it was illegal. Never had a problem finding opiates either thats even in AK. It’s everywhere.

@@Jordan-_--gn4nn If you're going to play the semantics game, yes, it is federally against the law. But, for most of us in the US, we can walk into a cannabis shop, which is now on every other street corner and purchase whatever we'd like. Every other billboard where I live is advertising recreational marijuana.

Addiction is addiction. The mechanism is always the same. The symptoms Bella is experiencing is typical for every withdrawl. Even for things that aren't considered "addictive". Because in reality everything can become your addiction.

I think it's important to make clear that it's not like this for everyone. I struggle with addiction and cannabis saved my life, and has made an incredible difference in my life with many benefits. I'm not saying this to discount your experience, but help everyone realize there are two sides to every coin.

Yeah the blatant disregard for the fact it’s not the marijuana but her is scary, pushing an entirely false notion like somebody fear mongering in the 60s. This addiction is literally only on her end, and with her past behavior it doesn’t surprise me In the slightest that she has a shitty addictive personality

I’ve smoked for 4 years everyday and have stopped no problem during both of my pregnancies only the first two days are difficult. It’s sad that people want to degrade something that is so beneficial to others and not addictive for everyone

I just want to point something out. While this may not be the case with you, if you get off of one substance and go onto another substance (even if it's better) you're going from one addiction to another addiction. So you're still an addict but you're not addicted to a very harmful substance anymore

I have ADHD and depression and marijuana has helped me so much. I can't afford to get medication for my mental illness so weed is a more affordable option for me. I also stopped for 4 months straight and was completely fine. Too much of anything can be addictive. My sister literally had withdrawal symptoms bc she didn't get her coffee. Certain things are more addictive to different ppl. I've literally been addicted to twizzlers b4 😂. Saying marijuana is addictive is a dangerous blanket statement bc it can scare ppl away who might actually benefit from it. I think it only becomes a problem if it inhibits your everyday life.
