I bet Google’s offices may look different in a year: with rooms being filled with more office desks and technical tools and machines for working, and less places for fun and snacks. Because the smartest thing they could do after hiring serious employees that are dependable, they’d probably reflect the sense of discipline that previous employees lacked, by getting rid of the stuff that she’d shown. Stuff like the drink bars, most of the many snacks, and the games. As that’d be much more distracting. Google setting up their offices like a playground for adults didn’t necessarily inspire a strong discipline of work ethic or reliability.

Roti Prata or Roti Canai is a common street food dish across Singapore/Malaysia which is made by the Indian immigrant community that moved here because of the British generations ago. Its probably most similar in taste to Dhakai Paratha (made in Bangladesh or West Bengal) or Kerala Parotha but is very much its own thing unlike Chai Tea or Naan Bread which is just Chai or Naan lol.

The possibility that the 12,000 Google laid off may have been employees that weren’t reliable, disciplined, or serious about their job-roles, makes me hope that the company hires candidates more qualified, and self-disciplined to be more dependable. But, it didn’t help the company that they made it look/feel like and adult daycare. If they hadn’t portrayed that impression, those employees that got laid off may have taken they’re jobs more seriously and would have been more reliable at the sight of the workplace and how it reflected productivity and innovation. A work place should take care of their employees, and make them comfortable. But, if you reflect as a place of fun and relaxation, then it won’t feel like a business of work, and productivity. It’ll feel like an amusement park.

Roti paratha is a South East Asian (Singapore and Malaysia specifically) version of a paratha. We usually eat it with fish curry or daal. Probably one of the staple foods here in Singapore since most people enjoy it regularly especially if you're meeting friends late at night.
