Hey guys, thanks for travel in our big and distinct country. Brazilian cities has big Bus Stations because we unfortunately don't have a railway infrastructure like USA or Canada.

As you can see, Brazil has a serious problem with housing... One thing that I think can help change this is the Wood frame, a building system that you Canadians have been using for decades. It turns out that masonry is very expensive and requires much more care as it has 10 times more weight than wood frame... Poor Brazilians don't usually have the money to buy a lot or hire a architect, from there he invades the hills and builds the favelas on his own. Wood frame, being a simpler, cleaner and cheaper method, allows houses to be built on their own without offering as many risks as Masonry. That's it, Brazil is starting to build with Wood, who knows, maybe in a few years these favelas won't end, right? And everyone can have decent housing. I think it still takes a long time, but I have hope...

It's cool that Ivana called the meat, rice, salad dish "real food", because we brazilians also call it like that, we say "To com fome de comida de verdade" that is like "We're hungry for real food" which would be rice, beans, salad, meat, farofa.

If there’s one thing I learned from my trips around the world is how amazing Brazil is. The first couple of times I traveled internationally, I went to the States and Europe and I thought that Brazil was a really bad country to visit or even live. Then I got the opportunity to live in Russia and visit the Caucasus countries and Israel and oh boy, the things that I’ve gone through in these countries was too much for me. After returning to Brazil, I noticed how clean and organized everything is, even if you are in a region that is not considered that well organized and clean. People are always, always friendly. Taxi drivers, sellers, service people… all of them are at least polite, not to say nice and friendly too. Of course there are some bad apples here and there, but they are such a small number compared to how amazing everyone and everything is here. We should love our country more. Yes, other countries are better in some aspects, but Brazil just hits different.

@@rbct well if you’re from the failed state of Rio de Janeiro, anything and everything is better than there. But I’m not and neither are the other 91% of the country so you’re generalization is unfair. And you clearly ignored the point where I said that there are some bad apples here and there, but that’s everywhere in the world. Bad and corrupt people exist in all places, but they’re not the majority and they clearly don’t represent Brazil. If you’re taking about the politicians, then we should talk separately about it and, again, it’s unfair to treat the whole population badly because of these guys. Also, have you been to Armenia? To Georgia? To Israel? To Russia? I actually lived in hell in these countries, so yeah, I’m gonna say that they are a level below compared to Brazil. But then that’s my experience…
@NicolleRoesner Жыл бұрын
@@rbct no, it’s not the same thing. It’s really impossible to claim that whole of Brazil is the same as Rio when only in Rio you get caught between crazy shootings in the middle of the day. Again, only Rio had all its living governors arrested at least once. Maybe there are more cases of corruption among the people there thus reflecting it on the government but no way it’s the same as in the rest o Brazil. And by the way, you’re being super contradictory in your comments too. Can you decide if you love or hate Rio and the US? What I wrote back there is just my opinion. You’re more than welcome to discuss it but don’t say I’m wrong just because your reality is different than mine. By the way, I’m currently living in Germany and I could only wish they had a bureaucracy like Brazil does, but at the same time, I prefer the architecture here than in Brazil and these things do not make Brazil or Germany bad countries. Honestly I don’t see any difference from the quality of life I had in Brazil to what I have here. Maybe 10 years ago my opinions would be different, but I still stand by it that Eastern countries are not as good as Brazil. It’s just a matter of perspective and preferences. Just let me be. Thank you.

The three hour stop is also needed to switch drivers. By regulation they are not allowed to drive more than 6 hours straight, so they get to one place and then they usually head back on a bus that´s coming back on the opposite direction (The exception is when there are 2 drivers taking turns on the wheel) . Or when they keep going they will rest for 20 min or so and then they will head for the next stop where he/she will finish the shift and another driver takes the wheel of the bus. I once rode a bus from Florianópolis to Asuncion in Paraguay. Paraguaian drivers are a show of their own, they will switch while the bus is in movement going 80 miles an hour...

Com os dois aí vc vê como eles pegam turista que não sabe o que pode e o que não pode fazer por aqui, além deles explorarem a dificuldade de comunicação com quem não sabe português.
