Hi Adam, great explanation! Just one question, how can I determine if the trading system that I'm using fits the 50-60% % win range? Or is it safe to always assume it at 55%?
@omarelmountassir3454 жыл бұрын
You don't assume anything , your winrate is litteraly the percentage of your profitable trades from your trading history ! a trading system win range is defined by experimenting , or by others experiences

Please add your comments, I could not find a single explanation from any of the KZbin channel. Thanks.

@britainlockman4527 жыл бұрын
This is a good enough representation and shows the correct direction that capital would move but not a good % for gains/loss. Something more like Capital * (1 + expectancy) ^ (number of trades) would be a bit more accurate. 1%R being more like 14% returns and 2%R being something like 29% for his example of 10,000; if you treat the trades recursively (which he seems to be).This doesn't account for streaks though! A 'winning' streak of 4 trades would get you to that 13% sixteen trades early!
@britainlockman4527 жыл бұрын
oy his spreadsheat does it
@gmarquezp7 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam, I reproduced your spreadsheet. If I use 3% risk as 1R, after several simulations i see the maximum drawback is 30%. On the other side the monthly return is 3X vs 1% 1R and when the equity gets compunded the number gets very interesting at the end of one year. Being that so, would you advise to use 3% 1R or do you recommend sticking to 1 or 2% for another particular reason? Also is there any specific reason to use 2R and 1R as threshold? How can you correlate the accuracy with this thresholds?
@AdamKhoo7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the higher the risk per trade, the higher the returns... but the larger the drawdowns and the larger the volatility. If you can psychologically manage the large volatility, you can risk 3% per trade.
@josmarott6 жыл бұрын

hi adam, based on the video you make 20 trades per month which means roughly 1 trade per day for a month. Do you really find that easy to do that much trading? I am only beginner and I only do like 5 or 6 trades a month, but based on your calculation, the more I do trading the faster I can win (100 trades goal?)?
@AdamKhoo7 жыл бұрын
How many potential trade setups a month depends on your strategy and the time frame you are using. Using my swing trading strategies with daily candles, I get 10-20 high probability setups every month

Hello, thank you so much for these videos, I have one question though. For example, when you enter a long position and your target is 2R, when you start to win and let's say you're at a 1R win, do you recommend moving your stop loss a bit higher, to assure you're making profits whatever happens ?
@mokshpuri79607 жыл бұрын
Alexandre MICHAUDET that also means interferring with your trading system, unless you have backtested it, because if you this change in between and deviate from your original trading plan which was 1R risk and 2R reward no matter what and now if you shift sl to breakeven , you are not giving your trade enough room to reach 2R target. So so sometimes it will hit 2R target, while other times it will hit breakeven sl, only to realize that it goes beyond breakeven without touching the normal sl of 1R and reaching the 2R target, basically completly changing the expected profit of the system.
@philp81348 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam So you wouldn't recommend mixing trend trading with range trading..if there were no obvious entries on your usual stocks or forex pairs. Conversely, if i traded the peaks and troughs of a range, you wouldn't recommend trading a trend on a different 4x pair or stock..if there were not obvious entries in a range?
@AdamKhoo8 жыл бұрын
It is best to stick to one specific strategy or system per account. Yes, you could trade a trend following system on one sub account and a mean reversion (range trading) system on another sub account
@philp81348 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reply Adam.
@o14n7 жыл бұрын
Can you use trailing stop losses with this system? Like if I buy at 10$, stop loss at 9 and target at 12. And the stock moves to 11, why not adjust it so you keep the 1:2 ratio. With the price at 11, my target stays at 12, but I move my stop loss to 10.5. Is this something I should shy away from? Because I always think that some money is better than losing money.
