That 25mr from mercs will probably reduce more damage from jax WR kindred W and zeri ult, aa & W. Than the auto attack part of tabi's throughout the whole game. An 'ad' champ with innate magic dmg but no magic penetration at all, will get severely reduced by just a tiny bit of MR. So especially vs a full AD team, mercs is often the way to go (with the exception of 3-4 full auto attack champs that lack CC). And that's not even regarding the dmg reduced from actual Ap champs or the main reason you buy mercs: tenacity, which the lack of- you died to. The baffling amount of times your Q's get interrupted or delayed by CC will also reduce the effectiveness of ability haste.
