Today Sports Dissected is welcomed to Austin, Texas by Assistant AD of Sports Dietitian & Clinical Wellness, Amy Culp, for a tour of the TANC (Texas Athletic Nutrition Center). UT renovated the TANC in 2015 during a time of significant change in the NCAA feeding guidelines that allowed schools to provide unlimited snacks as well as meals incidental to a student-athlete’s participation in athletics. “Every athlete - no matter the sport - gets the same level of care here at the TANC,” Culp says.
Sports Dissected brings you a look at sports from the inside out.

It is great that UT athletes have the luxury to be provided all these well made nutritious meals. However regular students deserve good food as well, the cafeteria for normal students provides shit compared to this.

I agree to a certain degree but at the same time, those athletes are bringing in so much money and have to be scientific to a point with their meals that it does make sense they get more options. That being said, normal students should get good food as well

@@pablomuniz3596 high end football programs bring in hundreds of millions of dollars and basically pay for the rest of athletics. Also athletes are sacrificing time to study and socialize to bring in that money. I’m not saying normal students should eat like shit. It would be ideal for every student to be able to get a quality meal of their choosing. I also think that after decades of athletes not being able to afford to eat in general while bringing in the amount of money they do, they deserve to have those benefits when their bodies need to be more specific than most people. Especially since affording to eat hangs by a thread considering that people lose scholarships if they get injured

the dining halls before fall 2021 were about as good as this for all students, they would always have brisket like in the video on wednesdays in JCL, when they changed post COVID so many things left and the food quality really declined.

If food is that big of a deal to you then incorporate that into your school selection😂 also I went to a public school in Texas that has a third or URT’s enrollment and the food was pretty good at the cafeteria. It's crazy how much money college coaches and personnel earn per year plus all of the many perks that go along with it. Football players are treated like kings and cost lots of money $$$ ... no wonder tuition and fees for all the regular students are so high and many ordinary people can't afford college.
