I drove to a spot in 2017...it was pretty cool. We stayed home this year and got 99.3% totality and that last .7% of the sun kept the area pretty well lit. It was amazing how bright that last little bit of sunshine was.

Indianapolis was also in the path of totality, and the whole thing was fascinating, humbling, awe-inspiring, take-your-breath-away. You could hear cheers from all over the place. It definitely was an experience that brought all who saw it to unity, even if only for a few minutes.

In 2017 the totality passed over a family member's house in Idaho so we went to see it. This year it passed over another family member's house in Texas so we went to see it. The next one in 2045 will pass right over my parent's house. It's an unreal experience. I love how weird the overall light gets once the moon starts going across the sun.

I cried at 100% in 2017. I totally get what you are trying to say! In 2017 I immediately Googled when the next one was going to occur. I watched with the nicest group of van lifers and RV travelers in the Cape Girardeau Missouri Cracker Barrel lot. It was so amazing! The diamond ring effect is stunning! I can't explain how brilliant the light was at that instant. I want to chase these now all over the world. Wish I could share my video of our crowds reaction at 100% totality!! I stayed in place and watched a movie in my van on a perfect weather day until the traffic cleared. (My friends didn't get back to Northwest Chicago until one in the morning. Normally a 4 hour drive from South of Indianapolis. Wow...11 hours crawling in traffic.) I took the scenic route East to Marion Illinois and visited Garden of the Gods in Southern Illinois on Tuesday. This was an epic van weekend! So glad you got to experience this amazing moment.

I wasn’t far from you in Northern Vermont myself. I was in Enosburgh Falls. I decided last minute to drive up from south of Boston. I agree with you. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen and I am so glad I took the 4 hours to drive up there and then the 10 hours to drive home with all that traffic. Worth every single minute. Next one I go to, however, I will plan better and stay wherever I am viewing the night of, but with that said, I am so glad I didn’t miss this one. Walk in peace, Ryan and keep the videos coming.

We watched it in N.E. Ohio. yeah, the weather was sketchy, but at the last moment the skies cleared. Our group was at the eastern edge of totality, so we only had about a minute. I got to see the one in 2017 an hour's drive south of my house in Oregon with a bunch of friends. As a matter of fact, I drove my camper van down the night before, because my friend's place was right in the middle of the path of totality, so we had a nice group campout. I was as awestruck as Ryan was for this one; words truly do fail. At the moment of the total eclipse, it is like someone throws a switch, because the world just *pops* into darkness, and stars come out! In ancient times, warriors threw down their weapons and wars ended, evil kings gave up their thrones, aboriginal tribes cowered in fear. We were spellbound. By the way, I left to drive that hour's drive home right after the full eclipse was over, and it took me four and one-half hours in bumper-to-bumper traffic to drive 50 miles. But it was well worth it, a once in a lifetime event that everyone should experience.

I saw it in 2017 and 2024. Both times I had tears in my eyes. You know when you look up what you're apart of. The millions of ppl that got to witness this throughout civilization. Your everyday trivial life can never truly give you that perspective cause it's watered down mondane life. Looking up at those skys and knowing how the earth works relative our whole solar system. It's just magical

South of Indy when we watched it. No clouds near the sun, it was incredible ! We had 4 minutes of total eclipse here. Seeing the ring of fire, the sun's corona during totally when it was safe to remove the eclipse glasses was so surreal. And when totally ended and it got bright again, we noticed that the red Tulips around us in the yard had completely closed up. They were wide open to the sky before the eclipse. We stayed out for 90 minutes to let traffic ease up, and they were still closed when we left an hour and a half later. So quick to close, and I don't know if they stayed closed until nightfall, but we'll never forget that experience. I'm very happy that you were able to see it with your friends. Did someone lend you friend a spare pair of glasses after his broke ?

Flew from Atlanta to Little Rock Arkansas to see it. Such an awesome experience!

My 2-story foyer has a window facing out towards the front lawn. I put on my eclipse glasses (2nd eclipse with them now) and watched the whole thing from inside my house. lol. I did walk outside for the max which was 80%. Here in Charlotte, NC. But Ryan, your adventure was much better.

i am not the same person as before I saw the total eclipse monday. I was near montreal, so basically the same sky as burlington, VT. this changed my way to think of things. you described very well how I feel about it, and I was not even hyped for it I just went to see it as I had nothing better to do, glad I did, sorry my family did not move to see it. I will have to chase another total eclipse with them as they MUST see one before they die. I didn't know before I saw it but it definitely is a bucket list item checked off my list

Loved the video. Great job! Here in Buffalo it was cloudy, we could only see parts of it. But by 20:19 5pm, the clouds rolled away, figures😒
