Very cool episode!!!! I worked in a record store when new releases were on Tuesdays and we would get the box on Monday... loved going through the boxes to see the new stuff first. Picked up Queen,Mr. Big, Tears for Fears,Whitesnake, CSN&Y,311,Beth Hart and maybe a few others 🤔. Cassandra's Crossing sounds interesting.

I too worked in a record store(s) when the new release day was on Tuesdays (The Record Factory and Wherehouse Records and Tapes) as well as a record store when the release date moved to Fridays (Spirit Records and Video). Since I was responsible for unpacking and pricing all inventory, I MUCH preferred the Tuesday release date as the store was much more manageable foot traffic wise. As many of us remember (and miss!) the neighborhood record store was a place to gather and hang out so inevitably Thursdays through Saturdays were usually very busy and restocking product while trying to take care of customers, keeping the isles clean along with theft deterrence was a challenge!

I'm in target now. I just noticed they have an exclusive single disc version vinyl only of Guns N' Roses greatest hits with 8 tracks, including the 2022 version of November rain and the recent track hard skool. thought since you're a diehard Guns N' Roses fan you'd be interested.

The tears for fears live album is amazing. They recorded a bunch of new tracks in the studio to make an hybrid album. These tracks are all new, although the ideas go back to The Tipping Point sessions or even sooner. There is also a, I guess, german edition of it with a fifth new track. I love how David Coverdale revisits his stuff ! You always get something new, even on reissues. I guess the 2024 remix of Into The Light is different from the "revisiting" we got on the White/Red/Blue trilogy three years ago ? You're right, it's a great week of releases !

My record store Horizon Records had 20% off all boxesets so I got that American Idiot for 50 instead of 58. It's incredible, Green Day recorded multiple albums and multiple versions of every song to get American Idiot just right and we get to hear some of that process here. And the bonus items and booklet are just top tier quality. One of the coolest sets ever. I might have to get the vinyl as well. Oh, that remind me - Pinhead Gunpowder. Gotta get that new one too.

Hey Brendon, I saw an unboxing online for a 2 cd version of the Queen, where the second disc was the sessions cd from the boxset. Did you see that version as well? Also Target has an exclusive version of the Tears for Fears that has an additional studio track bringing it to 5 studio tracks instead of 4. I am loving the Whitesnake box and I look forward to your unboxing and review. Enjoy all the new music.

@BrendonSnyder actually, the Queen official release of The Night Comes Down a month ago was analyzed by Wings of Pegasus Channel through software, and it showed it was 100% pitch-corrected. If they did it to 1 song, it's safe to say the whole album has been done, which is a tragedy and an insult to Freddy's legacy. I don't understand why anyone would want to do this

Just checked out ‘Stranger’ from Cassandra’s Crossing. Really solid. Someone commented that it sounded like ‘Dream Warriors’ but sped up - and they’re not wrong. Fun track. Very interested in hearing the rest of the album.

Hi Brendon, like your channel alot. Keep on the good work, dude !👍👍 I was wondering HOW do you listen to all that new stuff.? I mean, do you pick one album and listen to that everyday a few times a day during, let´s say 1 week long, and then you pick the next one etc., or how do you do that ? Because I think, when you listen to MANY new stuff the same time, your brain starts MIXING the songs together, and then you don´t know, which song on which album was., right ? In other words, you cannot LEARN the songs correctly. And I think, it´s very important to really LEARN the songs, at least for me, as a musician myself. Do you make music yourself too ?(Because of the nice guitar in your room). I have started again to listen to 1 album everyday up to 3 times for a week long and then I take the next one. Would really like to know, how you approach that.

No, I don’t have any rhyme or reason as to how I go about listening to it all. It’s just based on how I feel at the moment and what moves me. But when I get new, I have to listen to each album that day. I generally will listen to each new album at least once before cycling back through.

I heard that the Queen 'remix' has autotuned Freddie, AI redone drums etc, I wish they wouldn't do that, I would prefer just a good straight up remaster with no revisionist funny business.

Just a side note and my opinion......that Queen 1 release has not received any positive reviews that I have watched. Now yes everyone has their likes and dislikes but the criticisms i hear repeatedly are to do with the mix and the song arrangements. First let me say I have owned this lp on vinyl for decades plus I have a copy from a Queen cd boxset so I don't want to spend more money on this reissue. Now I hear Freddy's vocals are mixed down in this, good god why?? Then the drums and guitar parts are boosted as if the survivor members are accentuating their parts on purpose. Even the new title "Queen 1" has been blasted as unnecessary and wrong. All in all my view is do not buy it as this only supports further unnecessary and corrupted projects like this to happen again, as if people want them. Go seek out the original version instead, just called Queen ! Oh and that B Ferry release, lol 😆 there are at least 7 Ferry / Roxy Music greatest/ Best-of's on the market selling for $6-$10. Too bad it wasn’t released as a stand alone single on a new collection instead of relegating it as a bonus track on a reissue. They really should have created a proper deluxe edition of Out Of The Cellar and included way more content on a multi disc set.
