If you forget about the wonderful golf for just one moment and look at the way she has conducted herself New Zealand, her parents and the game of golf have every right to take pride. Perfect manners and consideration for everyone around her. I remained a fan through the difficult years when the golfing world said she might never win again. She never moaned or whined... Just got home with a job with a smile. Truly deserves gold.

She is the epitome of a professional golfer. It will be sad if one day we are not able to enjoy her exploits on the course. It's a difficult conundrum for female players who want to enjoy their careers but also have a family life outside golf. Although only 27, she has been on the tour for many years and that takes it's toll. She has been married 2 years and must be considering a family. Having achieved most things in the game, her mind must be thinking of the future. Hopefully, maybe after a few years out, she could return to the tour to play again. At 33 or 34 she would still be in good shape to compete if she chose to? My guess is she will 'retire' soon and start a new chapter in her life. It will be interesting to see what.

Lydia Ko has achieved what millions of golfers dream of. As a Kiwi I have watched and got really excited about where this young golfer was going with her game. When she started getting my interest she was 12 years old. She already had racked up record breaking junior tournaments and she just carried on winning into pro golf where she broke records again. As a proud Kiwi im still getting blown away by this incredible athlete who just won gold at the 2024 Olympics and also played her way into the hall of fame. What a journey its been so far. From young and coming up star to champion and now to iconic golfer and person in the world. Lydia says she a boring person and not at all exciting, because her social life is mainly around family,she is humble, and has all the things necessary to be a champion at this difficulte sport. She is our champion, she is one of the best and may she go on blowing us away with her future. This makes her exciting. From us Kiwi's we'd life to acknowledge, how proud you make us feel to be Kiwi's and how proud we are of Lydia Ko.❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😮

I think I can speak for all Kiwis when I say "we love Lydia". She epitomises what it means to be a Kiwi - humble in victory and gracious in defeat. We shared her tears of joy as the anthem played ...and the fairytale came true. At 27 years old Lydia has "completed golf". I have never been more proud to say I'm a New Zealander...thank you Lydia.

Like the Olympic commentator said so eloquently after she won the gold medal with 2 shots to spare, "She has completed golf". If she feels like she's ready for retirement, then by gosh she's certainly earned it after achieving basically everything there is for her to do in the sport.

once ur at the highest and winning you get burn out, you set a goal and meet or win those goals there’s nothing else, so you take a break and everything gets loose and the fire to play is not there..

just a guess, but i think Lydia had feelings for Jason Hamilton when he caddied for her, they just had that look and the way they looked at each other, then boom he's fired and she starts spiraling down, just a thought

Her parents continuous interference in her golf game I believe had a big impact on her sudden drop of form. She went through many coaches, which must of been unsettling for her. Added to this the standard of women's golf got better, so wasn't so dominant.
