@@CourtsandShambles The surrounding villages have some great walks. West Tanfield has walks to adjoining villages with some local history to take in. Good pubs with great food locally and the Bull Inn has a fab beer garden by the river Ure. Then there's Wenselydale and Swaledale both within an hours drive :)
