Hilarious to have the contrast these days in skis technology and shapes, when I skied in the late 1990's in Lake Tahoe during a week where it dumped feet and feet and feet of snow. What skis? Salomon Superforce. Ski waists were around 68 I think, length 195 and mostly straight, zero "rocker". Those suckers submarined EVERYWHERE. It was exhausting. You turned up the binding DIN to avoid losing your skis under 3 feet of snow up on the mountain somewhere. Waist and chest deep. People ran leg tethers to connect a ski to their boot when it came off.

For hard (winter) piste: around 68 - 72mm under foot For soft (spring) piste: around 74 - 83mm under foot For moderate powder (new snowfall) at the ski resort: 90 - 100mm under foot 3 pairs is all most of us serious recreational skiers ever need.

Hunter Mountain. 4 deaths in 2019. That’s legit. 15% of all US skier deaths that year 😮

A lot of people out there can easily afford the passes even with price increases. Many people will always find a way to purchase them a few won’t be able to. These corporations don’t care about the few so don’t count on prices coming down.

So true, and they won’t lower the price if demand is still there. Ikon does it to a higher degree, just takes zero blame for providing less skiing days.

Well I listened and have 6 days on the qst. Love the playfulness in this slow to start Utah snow! Thanks for the qst recommendation.

I spoke with someone in the know. They want the money upfront. It helps them not only estimate profits and locks them in, it helps with figuring out their budgets.
