For those who read this, thankyou ❤ My sister adopted a german shepard from an animal shelter a year ago, she was named Lily, and she suffered large amounts of horrific abuse which is heavily distressing to type down... when i got to meet her, she cowered in the corner of her cage and yelped loudly and begged to be left alone, this broke my heart. As we gently approached her, she was crying loudly and cowered in her cage, terrified that we would hurt her. I began to cuddle her, cradle her in my arms, telling Lily that i promise i would look after her, that she would never get hurt again, Lily was shaking in my arms badly-she was filled with scars from the visicous attacks from her owners-and i could feel the outlines of her bones from where she was starved. Me and my sister took her in straightaway. We nutured her, fed her, loved the pants of Lily. And she grew happy, strong, and sweet. And i wonder everyday exactly what makes people badly abuse dogs in such a way. Lily was a gentle giant. When my niece was welcomed to the world, she got to meet Lily, and got to enjoy her first amazing year with the beautiful german shepard. Lily grew protective of her, and always watched my niece whenever she was in the Garden, i knew that Lily would safeguard her, stop her from being hurt, while everyone was away at work, i offered to look after Lily and my Niece. The sun was out, it was beautiful. My niece giggled at Lily as she licked her face as they played on the grass together. Ive gone to the toilet for 5 minutes thinking they would be okay, and come back to something horrifying. Lily had her teeth sunk deep into my Nieces nappy, she was shaking her around as though she was a doll. I was frozen in horror, watching Lily snarl and shake my Niece, throwing her around the grass, i was so shocked, i dont know why, i was frozen in horror watching Lily be this aggresive with my niece. My niece was crying. I finally gathered my thoughts together and ran outside to Lily and my niece. When i did, Lily threw her over her back with her teeth, far across the garden and my niece crashed on the floor, i ran straight for her cuddled my niece and stared at Lily wondering what the heck had made her go crazy. Lily lunged for my feet, all her teeth baring, and i ran inside the house out of fear my niece in my arms screaming. Lily scared me, a beautiful german shepard...acting aggresive for what reason? I stare at Lily running around barking, snarling...what seemed a full minute-seemed like an hour, Lily finally stopped, made eye contact straight at me...in that moment it was me and Lily, nothing else. She stared at me with a very gentle look in her eyes. So many memories of our first meeting came back to me, when she was screaming at my first touch, to how she is now. Safe. She stared at me as if it could be the last time, staring into me with nothing but love, no more aggression, was memories flooding back for her to? I heard her give me the softest wimper, then she collapsed on the floor not moving. At this point, my niece calmed down in my arms, but i ran straight for Lily, i dropped my niece of to my neighbours and ran for my car, Lily cradled in my arms, tears streaming down my face, i rushed her to the vets, afer a long wait of diagonises and treatment, it turns out Lily had been poisoned, the vets had discovered venom in her system and it had paralyised Lily, and she was unconcious. My heart was breaking. Lily was our beautiful baby and we didnt want to lose her, my niece, was infact fine after the garden incident, she was surprised, some scratches, but alive. The vets informed they need to keep Lily in intense supervison so they can give her all the emergency treatment needed. I never slept well at all that night. What made ger go crazy? When i went out into the garden, i went to the same area where Lily collapsed, underneath the bushes i heard something, like a movement of leaves. And it wasnt even windy. I found a large snake. It was big, muscular, and it moved across the garden pretty fast. I called some proffesionals to remove the snake. And although i cant remember the name of the snake species i was told back then, i was told it was considered one of the most venomous snakes. And a bite from it was enough to kill. I came to a sick realisation, Lily had infact saved my nieces life. Lily must of sensed danger and was shaking my niece and throwing her around to stop her from getting bitten. Lily threw her across the garden, she snapped my feet when i got hold of my niece. It made sense now. She was getting us away. And Lily took the fatal bite for us. Did she make it? No. She passed away, I was with her, i was cuddling her as the venom travelled through her veins, it was as though she didnt want want to go. She was suffering so much. But I asked her to do one thing for me. I went close to her ear and said. "Go baby, go to sleep" her heart was slowing at this. Was she hearing me? Crying some more i said "Good girl, your nearly there. I need you to go to sleep, so you wont hurt no more" she was nearly gone at this point, i felt her hanging on though. Encouraging her some more: "You can go baby, we will be safe. My little niece will be safe, nothing will hurt us now. But I need you to go" She flatlined then. She was gone. My baby Lily was gone. She saved us, my niece would have died had she of been the one to have gotten bitten, she was only young. I would have too. Lily died saving our lives. Shes my hero. She died with a piece of me with her. And Gohan, how gentle he is, happy, reminds me of her. I am subscribed. Dogs are amazing species. I hope everyone realises someday. 💜

I just found your channel tonight and have binged watched about 20 videos. I am in love with Gohan! I have a 3yr old German Shepherd named Rocky. They remind me so much of each other. 😍🤗
