I love how you got a strange piece of wood and turned it into something adorable and certainly unusual. I really like it, and agree, elm is a gorgeous colour. I picked up some odd logs today, all soggy and muddy so have no idea what wood they are. I'm looking forward to discover the beauty within. I shall do my best to create something as lovely. I like this. Elm is wonderful wood. Just today I made 6 wooden pens to send to my son for gifts and it was really hard to include the Elm one because it was spectacular. But... Lovely piece from an extinct tree in the US. It used to be native to our Northeastern states until the Dutch Elm disease wiped them out. Thanks for creating a beautiful momento of the Elm.
