I spray once a week with liquid orchid fert. Then when they will be bigger, I put a betta fish pellet in the pitcher every 2 weeks (in addition of the fert). They also get 14h/day of grow light.

I've been wondering what happened to your Eddy seedlings. Thanks for the update. My plants usually stay really small when I don't do a repot at around 3/4 months of sprouting. Nepenthes seedlings really benefit from having constant repots. Fresh media (specially free of algae) really seem to encourage faster growth IMO.

Yes all except the Eddy. It's soo slow I'm still not 100% sure it will make it.

Are you giving the eddy the drop at night because it might appreciate that.
@WindowsillNepenthes2 жыл бұрын
@@NepsandHelis That could be that. My day/night temp doesn't swing a lot. 22°/17°c (72°/63°f).

What I would do and did with my Hamata (Loved that interview about acclimating Hamata to living conditions) was to put it in a plastic bag near cold source and slowly move (like 2 months, not even) it away/ open the bag until it’s acclimated. For reference, my Hamata was about an inch across when I started and has actually made a leaf jump since I got it.

Omg look at those tiny baby pitchers!
@Golnax2 жыл бұрын
I have the exact opposite problem with my nepenthes. I've only had it for about a year now and it's gigantic! The biggest pitchers are between 6 and 8 inches (I'm not sure if including the open 'lid' in the height measurement counts or not) and it has new, bigger pitchers growing all the time. On top of that, it's split off into new plants twice now. The first one I separated a bit early and it took many months for the plant to recover but is not making rather large pitchers of it's own, I'm going to have to report it soon! The second one is still attached to the main plant currently and has been growing underneath the leaves and has pitchers that are between 2 and 3 inches. I just checked and it looks like I might have a third plant growing out from the first! I really need to get more pots and split these plants up! I don't remember what type of nepenthes it is, but based on your comments on growth speed I'm guessing it has to be a hybrid of something at this point.

That's cool! What species is growint that fast?
@Golnax2 жыл бұрын
@@WindowsillNepenthes So I looked it up and the Nepenthes I have is Nepenthes Gaia, which is a hybrid species so that explains the rapid growth. It's also a species which is supposed to get really big, so that explains the size as well! The only thing left unexplained is the 3 offshoot plants it's made. My understanding is that these plants are supposed to grow slower than that normally, so I guess I'm doing something right!

@@Golnax oh I taught you grew it from seeds 😄 Yes N. Gaya is super fast and strong as long a it's warm. And it produce like N. Ventrata a lot of basals.
@Golnax2 жыл бұрын
@@WindowsillNepenthes Ah sorry, that's my fault for not communicating better. They were just baby plants when I got them a year ago, about the size of yours now. They haven't flowered yet and thus I haven't had any seeds grown yet, but I do have a serracenia that produced a seed pod recently and is actually growing a second flower now, so I'll see how seed growing carnivorous plants goes before long!

Do you place seed on top of moss or do you bury it some?

Are there any way to make a high land plant a lowland?
@coral47712 жыл бұрын
Hello, no, not to my knowledge. Highlands and lowlands depend on the species, you can’t change a lowland to be a highland and vice versa..
@WindowsillNepenthes2 жыл бұрын
I get this question a lot. Some highland will adapt to intermediate, but the characteristic of highland is the cool nights, the characteristic of lowland is the warm nights, it's the opposite...
