Sarbananda Sonowal is an honest man. I hope he will be useful in Delhi. Himanta did all the heavy lifting for the last 7 years. He deserved it. Also, it appears that the BJP is back to its roots. Over-reliance on Modi needs to stop.

Yes man, I used to be a “bhakt” but now I have realized that if we Indians only rely on modi he will become a second Indra. I still support modi but modi has to show Harshvardan and Nirmala Ji the door. Modi needs to give people like gadkari, swamy, rajnath Singh more power in the cabinet. On top of that they need to get powerful leaders in state levels. The only powerful leader modi has created is the Sonowal-Sarma combination in Assam and maybe Yogi ji in UP but other than that they haven’t made any good leaders. Following the gujurat riots, modi changed drastically, let’s hope he will do the same now.

@@tomriddle4110 Harshvardan and Nirmala are not really underperformers. Both are hardworking and hold really tough ministries. But yes the perception needs to change and if it involves sacrificing a few pawns then so be it. Amit Shah too can not double up as BJP's election manager and the country's home minister. The middle class is disappointed with Modi. It has forgiven him in the past but this time he won't escape without penance. First, he will have to act decisively and stop pushing things on State Govts. The Center should compensate the states for the vaccines. Modi should also stop the central vista project and declare a hospital in its place. It will serve as a monument and legacy too. I feel sad looking at the way Congress is trolling him for the healthcare system. They talk about an unprepared health care system but truth be told there was no health care system to prepare in the first place. Neither in the 70 years of Congress nor in the 7 years of Modi.

It's actually a very good decision .... He is loved a lot by Assam people and Assamese call him their ' Mama ' ... Sonowal was not that loved compared to Himanta in Assam but Assam voted the same govt for mainly two factors : 1) Himanta Biswa Sarma , 2) Development (specially Infrastructure Development) ..... I can say this coz I have lived in Assam for more than 6 years during my father's posting in Air Force Station Guwahati (19 wing ) and I know Assamese and their opinions very well ...😊

In case of Manipur, the present ruling members of the government consist of the new elite. It consist of retired bureaucrats, high ranking academicians, businessman etc. It is completely different from the earlier government. In fact the peoples of Manipur may have voted on the capability of the candidate rather basing on the party. More and more new elites with strong financial power are joining to the BJP party, which strikes a good impression in the subconscious mind of the public. By looking at this scenario, any rebel opposition party should try to discover a new compatible or promising candidate to strengthen its own party.

These politicians prioritize election campaigns while thousands of Indians were dying. Modi is and will be a totalitarian dictator of the BJP. He has not promoted any leader apart from those that have been licking his feet. People who had varying opinions like Advani, Joshi have been shafted. Others like Rajnath and Gadkari have been coerced into silence. And BJP will not survive without Modi. As evident from every single assembly election BJP has contested. BJP loses 8-10% of the vote in every election when modi is not on the ballot vs when Modi is on the ballot. BJP has no other vote magnets apart from Modi. (excluding some state leaders like Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Yediyurappa) In all probability the party will splinter into many smaller parties after Modi goes. Just like Congress splintered after Indira Gandhi left.

Nothing political just want say this one thing, it's Himanta not Hemanta, people from north india or other parts of India always point out when Assamese people speak Hindi or any other languages or words in particular where we have an accent issue, with pronunciations and all(we have all faced it some point in school or somewhere, we being corrected by other people). Our people have come a long way in speaking proper hindi and all, with pronunciations, kindly requesting the same. I hope our cultural and linguistic ethnic identity does not get unnoticed in rest of India.

@@DKSingh-wf8tn I agree, it is in fact a healthy sign of our diversity, but what I don't like is people pointing it out specially to people from North Eastern States of India. There are phonetic variations and similarities which should be accepted, rather than mocked, we should not be discussing these things but ya we do face all kinds of racism and criticism based on our geographical position as well as cultural variations, practices till this date you know. Our history and culture is hardly included in national textbooks. Until and unless you are someone from here or someone been here or worked here will understand or get to know so many things about us. But most of the things people don't know. In news and media I see only the political scenes from this region. There is some level of ignorance towards us.

Also I would like to mention one more thing, being a common regular person from Assam, the election we had last month was utter rubbish, doing campaigns and large gatherings led to the rise of Covid-19 cases here and it's getting out of control now all thanks to those great leaders of ours, they could have at least done the vaccination drive first. And the most amazing thing is nobody stood against it, not even the opposition or any local activists or leaders or anyone. We already saw what was happening in rest of India.

Lol do you know anything about the ground reality in Assam? HBS is beloved by the people of Assam, people have given him the name Mama out of love. The sole reason for that is the fact that he has tirelessly worked for the people of Assam, helped develop the infrastructure, done commendable work in the education ministry and has beautifully handled the covid 19 pandemic in Assam. Despite which party one supports, we cannot deny the hardwork this man has single handedly put in for Assam's development even back when he was in Congress. There isn't a single minister who does so much work on the field, SS is rarely ever seen while HBS is always on the ground taking stock of the situation, visiting hospitals, covid centers to make sure there is no mismanagement, he has set up 13 oxygen plants in Assam since last year and even made deals with a big oxygen plant in Bhutan near Assam's boundary to aquire more if needed. He is the people's choice, i would be bold and say people voted for HBS not BJP. We voted for hardwork and development rather than petty politics.
