I love how Tom talks about skylines like there common. The United States won't let us have certain cars but doesn't mind what motorcycle we have. Makes me wonder if the United States care about us.

I just bought my first ever bike in November, an '07 Ninja 250. Only paid 1250 bucks for it with 3,300 miles on it. I wanted something cheap I could learn with and get comfortable on before upgrading to a 600. Now I just wish it would warm up and stop raining so I could ride it all the time, winter sucks! Still, its a fun toy, good recommendation!

Well... learning on a 750 or 600 sports bike is illegal in Australia.. need to be riding for 3 years (give or take) before we can have an unrestricted license and be able to ride 600s. In NSW anyways.

Didn't know you were such a car enthusiast Tom. R32s have just been legalized here in the states so they're still pretty rare and seeing those gtrs, s15s, and evos like there a dime a dosen makes me so jealous...I never see that many evos at even big meets. Also you were commenting on that fb rx7s rotary and how much you love rotors and then at the end of the video you said you're getting a rotorcycle...Toms next bike = rotary motorcycle confirmed.

@africanhistory

I disagree with that short 600 assessment. And I find that most comments on the 600 are lacking in full disclosure. Maybe because they guys have been riding so long they forgot things like WEIGHT. A 600 is a huge bike, heavy and bulky. THe turning radius will mess you up. And Yes the power. they not as weak as Tom is making out. They will shoot off from under you if you cannot master that throttle. Did I mention the clutch? The clutch on an R6 is sensitive takes a while to learn. Drop a 600 on your leg while learning and You will know about it. Not to mention dropping an expensive bike vs dropping a 250.

It's legal in almost the whole world, except for 49 of the 50 US states. Drivers in other parts are well adjusted to bikes lane splitting + it makes traffic move faster and reduces serious accidents; getting rear ended while sitting in traffic can be pretty bad news on a motorcycle. In America (minus cali) drivers *WILL* roadrage over it because they aren't used to seeing it, and they think the bikes are "cutting in line" or being unsafe. In reality its makes everyone move faster and safer but it's a bit counter-intuitive.

I have previous experience on dirt and this is just a great bike. Power down low and when clutched will wheelie in 1st and 2nd. But I am soon going on opens and will be looking into either a 2008 R1, 2007 CBR100RR or maybe a Gsxr1000.

I'm learning on an older (higher powered, lowered price) GSX 750f, not the best of looking bikes but to get me used to power differences I think it's adaptable. Jumping from an Aprilia RS50 (de-restricted, slighty upgraded engine (80cc)), You'll always only ever find me in parking lots trying to get used to the breaking and power differences just so I can learn the ability of the breaks

If I lived outside of the US, I'd get a motorcycle. I don't want to become a double amputee because someone couldn't help but text behind the wheel. I'm staying on 4 wheels for now. I'm in the market for a 06+ AP2. Should be quite the fun car. Maybe some day I'll be on 2 wheels, but not any time soon. I envy riders in outside counties because people seem to have some sense when it comes to driving.
@Hadgerz
@Hadgerz 9 жыл бұрын
Texters are just as common here in Australia bro. And it's common in the UK. I understand you want to play it safe, but seriously, if you want to get on 2 wheels, don't let other people scare you away from it. None of us want to be double amputees, but just because we see phone users around us all the time doesn't mean we'll become amputees. Might as well stay inside in case of falling pianos.

to be honest, I think it's less about CCs than HPs. in my opinion, the best learner bike should fall within the 40-80 HP range. you _can_ learn how to ride on a bigger bike, as long as it comes with different power modes you can choose from.

Is there a world wide phenomena called beginner bike? I will believe there is when someone tells me what a beginner sports car is. Is it so hard to say entry level? I rode my Triumph Sprint RS for 12 years before I bought a Yamaha R3. It had nothing to do with power, and the RS is so much better in the twisties. Maybe the Triumph was beginner bike or my Yamaha RD400 was beginner bike. Only people who feel they need 100+ BHP bikes call the Ninja 300 or R3 a beginner bike. It's my opinion

Is that rear tire oem? The 300 does look a lot more nicer than the common 250, almost looks like a 600.

At 6'3 what would be a a good begginer bike for me. I have limited riding experience but can drive a manual UK car (passed my UK pratical test, but have since lost my license)

After I got the Teespring Domination video course (just google it),my ROI went over 300%. Its still the best Teespring course online IMO, and I have tried about all of them.

Hey I was wondering if u could restrict a 250 to a 50cc bc in my state they won't let u ride anything higher than that without a license

I've just bought a 1993 Honda 650 Dominator to learn on. Since it's still snowy, I've only tried it a bit around the parking lot, but it feels pretty good. As a moped I had a '92 Yammy DT50R, the big heavy one at 100kg dry weight, so I'm used to the seating position of an enduro/motocross type bike, and semi familiar with how they behave on the road. Anyone else had a Dommie and can tell me what I should expect when I start learning for real? Is it nimble? Forgiving? Any advice is greatly appreciated! :)

What do you think about the MT07, I mean it's learner approved, but it has lots of torque and almost 700cc....
