My '72 AUTHI Mini1000 has a similar locking steering column and is left hand drive. When they installed the locking steering column as required for the safety regs in Spain they just cut the wires for the ignition in the dash and left the key switch there.

Hydrolastic suspension was brilliant for small cars, and existed in it's later hydrogas form all the way into the late 1990's with the MGF.

Back in 1965 when in the UK I purchased a 997 Morris mini cooper.long stroke motor with 948 cam and really got down the road in 4th gear. Great days. Rog.

Black Mini Coopers were the most fashionable car of the mid-60s Swinging London era. People would spray them black and also often fit tinted/blacked out windows. My mother had roll down windows installed in hers. Some people had electric windows and even machines that played 45s.

Not saying that its an AUTHI. But please compare this Mini rear seam cover strip with other minis strip you have there. The Spanish Mini strip is slightly different from English Minis. Just an opinion..
