Panda Escarlate 1989 is one of the most awarded pop albums of all time lol. 7 singles and nonstop success. Both are phenomenal albums though. It definitely overshadowed E•MO•TION, but there’s no need to compare because music is subjective and both are enjoyable
@laurenwhitaker97224 жыл бұрын
1989 is a fantastic album. Personally, I think EMOTION is a bit stronger and I’m definitely a little salty that it was snubbed. Taylor has more of a hold on mainstream pop than Carly though, so I think that’s why there was such a lack of recognition. Honestly though, because of this, Carly has blossomed into something really special. Her niche hold on the pop industry and her cult following truly is a special thing. She recognizes her lack of mainstream significance and actually loves where she’s at: she didn’t like the attention she got for Call Me Maybe (paparazzi following her, etc) and would rather have the low-key success she has. She still gets to be a normal person and have a normal life, which is honestly so great for her. She may not be a pop titan like Taylor, but her low-key mark on the industry will not go unnoticed. Even though EMOTION totally deserved a Grammy, I’m not upset with where she ended up. Because of the lack of mainstream recognition, Carly is who she is today. We probably wouldn’t have Side B, Dedicated, and Dedicated Side B if she became huge again.
