I wish all radio manufacturers would put some effort into the 220MHz space. I realize it's a band that only is North America but a quarter of the Amateur Radio operators are here in USA and Canada.

I was thinking about making a Yaesu purchase, but when I'm seeing the ICOM commitment to the SHF frequencies, I think I will buy an ICOM HF even though I'm not yet ready to go to SHF. Commitment to amateur radio is what it is all about if we want to keep the hobby alive for new operators.

I have had ICOM radios for many years. I have four in front me now and 2 upstairs. The interface of all the recent radios is very similar. Best 73 to Ray and the folks at ICOM.

Thank you HamRadioPrep! I love your videos! I hope the price comes down as I am interested in the ICOM IC-7300 and the ICOM IC-905. I need 100 watts output like the 7300. I can afford the ICOM IC-7300 but the ICOM IC-905 is still out of my price range. Keep up the great work!

Really like ICOM. Why don’t you guys make a 220 MHz radio?

Icom's great. I have a 9700, 756proIII with matching 2KL amp, 3 -2730a (my truck, YL's suv & base) and a T90A handheld. And I set up a Icom HF and 2- 2730A's at our EMA EOC They just work and work and work! 73 Dave W9DLP

When is ICOM going to fix the bugs in firmware 1.40 and 1.41 for the 7610 ? They have broken the IQ output which allowed the use of HDSDR or any other SDR software.

Yes, not working for me on firmware 1.40. Not great...

I love Icom but they "cover all the amateur radio bands..." except 222MHz.

1.2 meter is 220 MHz
@n2rj4 ай бұрын
@@dougc190the band is 222-225. There is a limited allocation on 219-220 but only for packet radio. Icom doesn’t have a current 222MHz amateur radio.

How about adding 70Mhz to IC-7610, had one and sold it.
@newsles27 ай бұрын
I wonder why they haven't made more of a shack-in-the-box to compete with the likes of the Yaesu FT991? It is far more expensive to get HF and VHF/UHF+ band coverage with ICOMs than that single Yaeasu transciever.

They recently re-released the IC-7100 which has a lot of those features.

How many IC905 have you sold? There might be some one sold in Ireland and that operator is not even active 😮

I like the ad for the “New” IC-718 in the background. It is my preferred HF radio. My hope is that ICOM and YAESU will, like Kenwood, leave the waterfall behind - and sink money into the receive and transmit circuitry. A minority opinion. Thanks for the video.

The Best is NEVER the cheapest, its incompatible. Ive been fortunate enough to be able to buy Icom radios and accessories for nearly 40 years and still have the mighty R9000 receiver from over 30 years ago. Their products are built to last.

@mikemcdonald51479 ай бұрын
well I look at price as you get what you pay for and the old saying cry once buy once. Instead of buying several cheaper radios that may not do what you want or have the features or build quality but once pay the price and get quality.
