What makes PERSONA so Special?

For me, it's the way it juggles so many genres in one game while not feeling disjointed or overwhelming. How many games can say they're an anime based social sim dungeon crawler with a splash of pokemon and a hint of visual novels. It's truly a one of a kind series, and I honestly hope we can get some copy cat series at some point, too. There's a million pokemon clones. Why can't we get a persona clone? lol.

Yeah when I said that what I talked about isn't the ONLY pillar, it's one of the main ones, THAT is definitely one of the other equally important pillars imo and I've talked about it before but it def bears repeating. They are able to take these genres that for all intent and purposes SHOULD clash with one another but because of great writing and knowing how to incorporate multiple elements at any one time like I talked about here, they are able to have these different genres make sense and work together to make an even better game imo

It delves into the hearts of the party members. And uses the Arcana to tell the story of the characters.

Only have finished P4G and FES halfway through. P4 really blew me away. One moment i was laughing at my PSVita like crazy and ten minutes later i had to put it away because something happened that completely made me question, made me think, made me feel. Really good balance with a bittersweet true ending. Cant wait to finish my second entry and have that void inside me again

And it’s because of persona 5 royal need to giving credit where’s due without 5R P3R wouldn’t have happen most ppl would still be sleeping on the series but now everyone love royal Soo they milk 5 bc they realize this is where their numbers are coming from p5R Soo they seen that drop the ports to see if new fans would go play the old one they finally realize that the new fans aren’t fing with Soo they decided to make the next big Royal Reloaded and guess what since it was p3 it brought more fans because everyone who played 5R wanted another and atlus made it happen Soo proud of them

I think we can also add the fact that Joker got a place in Smash rooster and the reveal broke the 4th wall. I didn’t know Persona before that. But after that reveal, was into Persona so hard. Then I was excited when Royal became available on multiple platforms. I also started learning Japanese to play 5S because at the time, no western release was planned

persona is kinda one of the only gaming franchises that tries to capture episodic storytelling as a game mechanic. you can't play a persona game to a complete level unless if you spend time hanging out with someone outside of the main party. Modern Persona is not a cinematic story a lot of the times, and in turn it makes you care about the everyday people in those games.

I think that's a great way to put it. It captures that arc style storytelling well with the game mechanics to where it makes sense and adds to the overall narrative on the whole. Where one month you may focus on a specific character, build them up, and then develop them and integrate them into the main party to make use of the development and continually add new train cars to the train that is the game to make a bigger and bigger one where each part works with each other to make the whole thing better

then play persona 4 arena lol. Persona 4 had a really good ending where everyone is happy and even got 2 sequels off it. Persona 3 had its characters coping for 6 years straight lol.
