What Makes These Mining Towns Different, Episode 29

This episode we travel from Reefton to Greymouth via Blackball. Few people realise how these small towns were the first in New Zealand for significant historical events other than mining.

Stayed at the motel by the bridge in Reefton ( Bellbird ?? ) in 1970 . Working for Geological Survey . Helicopters landed on river bank to fly us up into The Paparoas . ( Similar to the MASH helicopters ) .

The West Coast is the best part of NZ imo. Apart from the mossies that is!
