I may. But I'm still reeling from one of them suing me for $30K. Ended up costing me $10K. Long story, but if some one sues you, you cannot win.

@@DonGiannatti That's ridiculous. I was watching Jamie Windsor's video on a similar problem. Apparently there are copyright troll law firms who do reverse image searches in order to find potential lawsuits. It's really lame because I don't see how showing a picture from somewhere else and talking about it, is illegal. These videos help me and others to discover other photographers and their great work so they always put the photographers in great light. Sigh.

@@theren8311 Yep. That is what happened to me. Here's the scam. The photographer signs a 'hands off' deal with the trolls, they then scour for usage problems. Remember that only registered images are disputed. When they find one, they sue 'on behalf' of the photographer, but the photographer has no dog in the hunt so it costs them nothing. You are being sued by the attorneys, so they have no skin in the game but time. You can fight them, but here's the deal; you cannot afford to. And if you lose, and that is always a gamble, you can be on the hook for "attorneys fees" which they can make up out of thin air. My attorney said that to fight then would cost between $25 and $30K. So I settled for $7000, and paid my attorney $3000. All to help a photographer I thought needed a bit more recognition. I am working on not being bitter about the whole photography scene, but this really got to me. I loved doing these things, and corresponding web pages on my blog. But I have also learned my lesson.

What I like about Helmut Newton, is that he is not pretentious. His photographs display eroticism without any guilt or shame or in any other from of disguise. He challenges the viewer to come forward and say I love Helmut Newton without fear of judgment (still had to keep his books hidden from public view :(). Most of the notable fashion photographers had tried to sale a young female body under the guise of clothes/idea/lifestyle. Helmut does the opposite. He confronts the view with the body and says look isn't it beautiful. His photographs itself are objects of desire (for male). He never pretended to sale handbags or shoes or clothes. Still he was rated as one the greats of fashion photography. I think that was his genius.

He was also a great structuralist, all his models are more or less immersed in composed geometrical structures, something his disciples and imitators rarely managed to achieve

You’re describing what we can obviously see in each of Helmuts images. But what is the subtext in each image. Figure that out and you’ll help your viewers grow as photographers. Let’s hear your subtextual thoughts. 👍🏻👍🏻
