Thank you so very much Rabbi. What a light and a blessing you are in this world. My parents have celebrated 72 years of marriage together. I have never heard my father say one negative thing about my mother or my mother say one negative thing about my father. They are Beautiful to watch together. They set a wonderful example. Again how timely it was to see this. They oh 94 years of age. My father is my mothers first and only boyfriend. This brings tears to my eyes to hear you speak. Fumani

“Contentment is a dead end.” Amen. Every time I try to explain to my friends that I don’t want to be happy, I want to be fulfilled, they don’t get it. Endless striving is the gateway to humility. I think many people are afraid of humility, of being something more than they are. If a man doesn’t want children… run in the other direction.

I’ve had two marriages that failed and I’ve taken responsibility for my part in that. I now have my inner wholeness. But of course being alone is not for me. Lack of wisdom and brainwashed by the culture in my first marriage very young. For security in my second marriage. Now I’m wondering if it’s too late to marry again, a soulmate as defined by this rabbi in another video. I am not Jewish and this topic is not just for jews. I simply recognise the wisdom here which deeply reached my soul. It’s a universal, non-religious message to me. It’s a spiritual message. Marriage is a high calling especially in these times of chaos and degeneration/devolution. A man wants to become more. That’s a real man. This rabbi is wise, but you don’t have to be a rabbi to be wise. His talk on soulmates getting married was another talk that touched me deeply. I’m 70 and have wisdom from experience. I want to feel Home (make a real home) at last but of course not to create children. I’ve done that and they suffered and they recreate what I learned from my parents, and from me. Separation patterns. Lack of intimacy. But I believe they chose me as I did my parents. I know this to be true for me. I create a real home with a new soulmate. My intention. I am young at heart. Open and vulnerable. 😅 I have always wanted a husband and to be married but didn’t know what that really is until now. I am traditional in my soul., and at last I know this is my purpose, and a noble one at that.🎉

Just found you sir, and I am learning so much This message in particular hits hard in 2023 when so many young Americans do not want to be married and reject responsibilities. Young women now say they “don’t need” a man and many men now say marriage is too much work AND they say they can’t find a good woman. This message is free gold. Thank you!

I guess Rabbi what you're talking about is that marriage increases one's depth of experiences, good or bad.. Talking to my brother yesterday- who's been married for many years and has two grown daughters, he told me the exact thing- as a bachelor in my late fifties, i was told there's experiences that i cannot comprehend unless I've lived through them. Fair enough. . 😀 But honestly i would say that there's hope out there for anyone who's keen.

You could have named this video,”How to make the best of a difficult situation”. I think that wherever you encounter difficulties in any kind of relationship,it’s showing you where you have a lack of self acceptance. The reason we’re not living in Eden is because we’re keeping parts of ourselves outside of our loving acceptance. Eden is a state of unconditional acceptance of all of oneself.

Hey Rabbi Friedman, me and my wife have been married for 13 years but i feel she lost all respect for me and i have done that too for her. She doesn't see me as the man she fell in love with but rather as a person providing for the family and a good father but that is it. She is intimate with me a few times per year and I resent that. As a man i need to be intimate with my wife more often, but i dont want to force her to be intimate with me if she doesn't desire it. Is there a way back from this if this has already happened? Do i need to better myself, get stronger, better in every way so that i can be of higher worth to her or all is lost and i just need to look for someone else?
@evka24

Ask her what does she needs …on Romantic way…maybe date nights…cook for help, help,her in house , give her compliments on house, food looks, say all the things you like about her…start repairing her pain…she ,ay do that too in return…..don’t expect intimacy immediately…let it brew and build …or seek marriage counselling…they will teach you how to communicate etc

Why do men die before their wives? Because they want to. Why do married men live longer than single men? The don't, it just seems that way. What is the role of a woman in a man's life? When he realizes that one day he's going to die she's there to make him realize he might be better off.

Maybe you have a blindspot. Someone wiser and more detached can see things from a different perspective, and conclude that only the distractions changed, nothing fundamental did. That's a why. There's others. If you don't understand the advice, you might not be ready to see it, doesn't mean the advice is not good for you.

Seems like these days - the concept of Marriage is increasingly intimidating... Perhaps being scared is healthy. It's a humbling sacrifice that requires more of you. It will place you in a state of dependence and you'll definitely need to partner with the one who created it (God). As the man of the home (The example of Christ) so many will grow to rely on you for many things - Guidance, Love, Wisdom, Money (extremely problematic FYI), Security. I imagine it gets overwhelming and this is why I also believe we will have to be more. I'm certain if Men take on the full responsibility of creating and leading a family, they will be stretched for the ones that need them. There is much to be appreciated in the stretching.

I know your comment is from 2 years ago but it’s has much wisdom. Like theres going to be a lot of work… but one day you’ll look back when those kids are out of the house and there’s grandkids coming in & you’ll be at rest. Continuing a lineage requires much sacrifice. Your comment also makes me think why it’s important for woman’s submission as the man is taking on a lot. Even women being the primary caretakers of children with the late nights attending to babies, organising lunches, getting the children ready… eventually it will end and you’ve grown in wisdom and passing to the new mothers ect. You’ll look at the person you stuck by through it all and grew more in love with (if you put in the effort & your marriage first) and just be grateful to God for bringing you through. Gods gifts are beautiful.
