yes, children that age are very adaptable when it comes to languages and should be encouraged
@tevarinvagabond11922 жыл бұрын
@@wmtarr886 False...children don't learn languages better then adults. The reason it SEEMS they do is simply because children have a LOT more time on their hands to absorb language through their parents constantly speaking, TV, music, and other sources. Also, children have no inhibition and feel free to make mistakes when speaking and learn over time through those mistakes while adults can often be afraid to make mistakes and thus don't speak as much as they should when they first start learning a language. Adults that are actually trying to learn and put effort and time into it are vastly superior
@isaacvolern67042 жыл бұрын
Adults have just as much lingual interactions, just at work & outtings. Adults use more complex vocabularies also. Nobody ever notes that children have most of their education involving language & parents teaching at home, an active effort.

Kind of bitter-sweet because it reminded me so much of New Year’s at my own Japanese in-laws’ place…which we couldn’t do this year because mom’s health has been bad and they didn’t want a bunch of people over. But… on the lighter side, I noticed you were drinking a “Dank IPA”, by IseKadoya. That’s actually brewed just down the street from me (Ise, Mie pref). But since you live in Tokyo, I guess you got it at Don Quijote? Anyway, here’s to health and happiness in 2023! 🍻

Did they tell you Japanese New Year’s Day is termed “Oshogatsu?” And it’s the most important day of the year in Japanese society. You had traditional Oshogatsu foods which each have cultural significance (gobo or burdock root = good harvest, kuri kinton or sweet potato/chestnut = wealth in the coming year, kazunoko or herring roe = fertility, etc.) You started the New Year off with the temple visit and eating ozoni, hope you liked the mochi! And your mother-in-law must’ve liked you if she made karaage(Japanese fried chicken), it’s labor intensive.
