if you want to help beamng's annoying clutch, edit your clutch axis to reach full disengagement sooner by messing with the start and end deadzones aswell as the linearity. You can make it car specific to emulate race clutches vs street & stock clutches. With the custom UI issue, you should be able to edit/setup the UI specifically for the different gamemodes, it's got a drop down menu next to the edit and add buttons. there you can set it up for the time trial mode specifically... you may have already tried that
@mrnotsogoodxАй бұрын
I did do that lol, my irl clutch grabs really fest and a little higher up. I have it set up like that but, I can't actually feel any feedback, I'm sure you can imagine my issues I end up having to go to the floor anyway. The obvious answer is to spend more money lol

@@mrnotsogoodx yeah its a shame, the gearbox, clutch and brakes in beam are so detailed yet you can't appreciate it since you can't feel them. i can't wait til ffb pedals and shifters are more accessible, would really put those features to good use.

When Beam says "synchro damage" what it really means is to simulate the wear and tear that synchros do get IRL on each shift where you don't rev match (well there is even minor wear if you do rev match. Synchros by their real life workings are always wearing off.
@mrnotsogoodx12 күн бұрын
@pfm57 That makes perfect sense. I never thought Beam put that much into the shifting macanics when there's no tire wear in the game lol

Could you please expalin how do you shift without the clutch or do you only partially disengage it? I know it can be done but I am always to scared of trying it on my own car (I drive manual too).However, the mothods I heard about require feedback from the gearbox. How do you manage to do that in a game?
@mrnotsogoodxАй бұрын
@Vivicect0r shiting without the clutch completely is a bad idea I don't do it, but it's possible by "flouting gears" there's a point where the engine RPM and the wheels speed are in perfect aliment, at that moment you push the shifter in the gear you want and it'll slide in, roughly, but it'll slide in its best to do it onna up shift. I don't ever recommend doing this. The only reason you'd need to this is if your clutch got stuck engaged. What I was talking about in the video is just pushing the clutch in to right when the clutch is disconnected form the engine, it doesn't matter if it's by 1mm or to the floor when the clutch is disconnected it's disconnected. When your racing you don't want to go to the floor bc it makes you less accurate for your Rev matching and makes your up shifts slower, and the engagement process is a bit of gusing game. Next time you go for a drive, USE the clutch, focus on pushing it in just enough not all the way. If you wanna laurn how to float gears, which I do believe is a good skill to know just in case (it saved me ones when my clutch got stuck engaged on my old truck) do so at your own risk, it's causes premature ware on the syincros
@mrnotsogoodxАй бұрын
As far as how I manage it in the game it's all just muscle memory/guessing or by more exspive equipment
@Vivicect0r29 күн бұрын
@@mrnotsogoodx Ok, I got it, thanks for the details. Looks like my Subaru won't allow that cause its clutch stars to engage almost at the beginning of its travel and completely engages at the very end (its their old 5-speed dual-range one). So if you don't press it completely, you feel some grinding when shifting. I haven't used a lot of cars, but the 2 other manual cars I drove had a huge dead zone at the beginning and the end of clutch travel. So the Subaru box felt kinda weird at 1st.
@mrnotsogoodx29 күн бұрын
@Vivicect0r Upgrading your clutch would help alot, I got a Carbon Kevlar friction disk it mine (Sege 3 endurance by SouthBend) it has very unique properties, before I explain them, on stock setup and some cheaper aftermarket ones the friction dick is very squishy, think of like if you pressed a wet sponge on the contour with the plam on your hand Vs. A dry one, the carbon Kevlar is the dry sponge so it engages very crispy and fast it also can handle a lot of heat and shock, 5k RPM lunches all weekend and I can still drive to work on it. It would get rid of a lot the throw, but I've never driven a dulle clutch before. I debated on going with one but I personally like singles bc I don't like having a long throw, I'd only go to one if I couldn't find a single disk to hold up to the power level I'm making I don't know exactly what you're driving, but pretty much all stock cars are designed to make it easier to drive. The long throw makes it more comfortable to drive on day to day basis and the cost of performance. If you ask me, I'd put the money into a really nice clutch set up it enhances the driving experience much more, and it was worth every penny I spent I'm sorry I made you grind your gears, my bad man
@Vivicect0r29 күн бұрын
@@mrnotsogoodx Thanks for the info. Its a Subaru Outback 3rd gen with only 172 (or so) HP. A very universal car that can do all the things, and is even fun to drive (suspension in quite hard), but no sports car in any way. So giving it a racing clutch would be a real overkill. Another issue is that while clutch can take the heat, the bearing can't and also it will heat up the engine additionally (Subies already run hot). I plan on swapping to 6cylinder 3 liter EZ30D some time in the future and that 250HP may justify upgrades to gearbox though =) As for gear grinding, you have nothing to do with it, don't worry) I was used to not fully pressing the clutch pedal when driving other cars and it failed me this time.
