One thing to keep in mind is that oils are NOT hydrating. I used to work for a skin care company that demonstrated this brilliantly. They put a prune in a jar of oil, and another one in a jar of water. The prune in the water would plump up tremendously over time, while the prune in the oil did not plump up at all, no matter how long it was submerged in the oil. Oils will not “hydrate” (add water/moisture to) your skin or your lips. They can be added to other ingredients to improve the feel of a product, by they will not increase the moisture content in your skin. (They are good at forming a barrier that will PREVENT the loss of hydration, but they cannot do the hydrating themselves.) So lip oils, body oils, etc. are not by definition hydrating…unless they contain other ingredients to increase moisture in your skin.

Same!! I love the stain, its like a blurring stain and not a gross looking one like Ive experienced with other stains. I like topping it with a regular lip gloss when the glossiness fades. I also adore the color selection, its hard to find stains that arent crazy and bright!

I bought the Glow recipe right when it came out, so excited because of the reviews. I was so disappointed, no blurring and did not keep my shine at bay at all. Infact by the end of the day it made my holy grail foundation look bad. I totally on board with the Huda and caliray both are great for blurring and oily skin

Totally agree about the Sol De Jenaro hair oil...way too heavy...I use the Loreal extraordinary hair oil and I love it...lightweight and makes my hair shiny,silky and soft,not greasy at all!

Cheryl I have seen a load of other people have the same opinion about the rare beauty lip oils it's surprising the product wasn't tested and any problems ironed out before being released personally don't like lip oils but 2 of my friends were going to order them Tuesday I showed them your video and a few other's it pays to watch youtube xx

I think Rare beauty lip tint is good. I reckon it’s the weather in Canada and also your lip condition. I live in subtropical area of Australia with normal skin/lip condition. It last definitely more than 30 mins and it won’t dry down that bad. You can still see the shine on my lip hours later.

This was a really useful video. I agree with the Rare beauty lip oils, they were horrible and I feel I wasted my money. The shine wears off after 5 mins and makes my lips flake. It is getting good reviews because of the brand Rare beauty and people people being obsessed with it. If another brand came out with the exact same thing no one would bat an eyelid.

Oh pooh! I purchased the RB lip oil in my first of 3 carts. I was excited that it stains the lips. If it's drying that will be disastrous for my mature lips. I'll keep my fingers crossed but the worst that comes of it will be a trip to FedEx to return it. I ordered the Sol de Janeiro 40 spray. I thought I had it but I have 2 others, 68 & 72. The Stansout sponge is my favorite if I'm going to use a sponge, which is infrequently.

I got the RB lip oil too and I have to agree with you. It does make my lips dry and the shine goes away pretty quickly. i’ve been putting a lip oil on top which helps the dryness.

I LOVE the sol de janeiro body oil I use it in the shower to shave. I mix it with the cream also. Never expected to get any kind of skin firming I just love the smell and what it’s done to my skin

I did order one of the Rare Beauty lip oils, but haven’t tried it yet so we shall see… The Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato on the other hand, is my most reached for fragrance right now! I absolutely love it! 💚 I have made 3 orders so far so let us pray, I stop there. 😂 as far as the Beauty Blender, I AGREE. Try the face sponges from DSMD shop! They are incredible! The brand is black owned & woman owned and I LOVE her dang sponges!

The rare beauty lip oils are very reminiscent of the kbeauty lip oils. I personally loved it. Once it’s glossiness goes away and I’m left with the stain I loveeee applying one of the too faced lip injection glosses on top. Not the super painful ones. But one of the less stingy ones. My lips look plump and naturally stained. That’s all preference though.

I FULLY agree about the Sol Dejaniero body oil ! I wasted like $40-$50 on that product just to do a quick review, and it was NOT worth the price. No firmness, no plumpness, no nothing at all besides the nice scent 😑 If I want just a nice scent then I’ll buy perfume or body spray. What a waste. Seriously. I totally agree with everything in your video except for the Rare beauty lippie. I enjoy the slip & jelly texture with the cooling affect. I honestly have not felt that type of texture in a lip oil before. BUT I DO agree that the stain isn’t great and all the colors seem to almost end up looking the same after about 20-30 minutes??? 🤔 I dislike the orange tint that the Honesty shade left behind. I wanted to try Happy to see if it’s more pink possibly? I don’t know if I want to spend the money for another orange tint 😣

I am probably one of the very rare few people who actually find the Tarte Maracuja tinted moisturizer to my liking. I have a desert dry skin, if I were to rate the dryness from 1-10, 10 being the Sahara then I’m definitely a 10. Apart from the dryness though, I do not have big pores but I still have a bit of texture around my cheek bone area because I have Milia. This is the first complexion product that has a “glowy” or “dewy” claim that actually translated glowy on my skin. Both Hauslabs & Makeup by Mario do not look glowy or dewy on me, both appear to be a velvet finish. So with that said, if you have a dry skin, slightly textured skin (the texture is very minimal on me), not prone to acne and you are looking for something that gives you the appearance of a glow, then you might actually like this product. I very much agree with the shade leaning rather dark. I am light medium with neutral undertone as I am Asian and slightly leaning yellow or golden and I got the shade 28N and that to me looks like my summer shade, but it works because it is not full coverage. It’s light to medium coverage. But like I’ve said, texture doesn’t bother me, my main concern is dryness. And just so you have a full picture of how dry my skin is, I pair it with Glossier Oil Serum Hybrid topped with Supergoop Glowscreen for SPF& gripping primer. I also used LYS cream bronzer & cream blush Patrick Ta or RB and I don’t set my cheeks, I only set my under eyes, and t-zone. I also set with CT setting spray. I don’t have any shine anywhere on my cheeks all day. Only my nose and a teeny tiny bit of shine on my forehead, nothing that a pat of face powder can’t fix. So if you are as dry as me, then this product might actually work for you. I share this because it was such a journey for me to find something that works for my exceptionally dry skin. Most people don’t have this problem but there is someone who might benefit from my experience. I did try & like Nars but the coverage is very light. Tarte, to me offers more coverage and I like the consistency and I promise, it actually dries down and doesn’t feel like a fly paper all day long. 😊 if you easily break out, it can clog your pores in the very oily part of your face, and to me that is around my mouth, my nose and forehead doesn’t break out but I also use a mattifying primer on my t-zone. I really want to make sure I share how I make this product work for me in case you are like me. 😊

Fragrances are so tricky. Everything smells so different on everyone depending on their body chemistry… I’ve worn the same fragrance for almost 15 years…. But lately it doesn’t smell the same anymore- just bought another new bottle within the last 2 months. It’s just not the same anymore I have a friend who wears the same fragrance and she says it smells the same for her as it has in the past for the last few years. :(

Yeah I’d probably have to disagree with you!! I absolutely love the lip oil!! My lips stay hydrated all day!! Maybe your dehydrated!! I think the word garbage is a tad overkill! I think it’s OK to review brands but I don’t think you have to completely tear the product down for 15 minutes. It’s really not that bad of a product.!!

It’s not marketed correctly. I’m a big advocate for proper marketing. It needs to be said. I am dry. I said that too. It’s not for me! EDIT - also, the garbage comment was I joke. I think just as you are accusing Cheryl of being too harsh, you are coming in hot with the harshness as well. She is stating opinions on her KZbin channel. That is what her viewers watch her videos for.

The only thing I’ll have to disagree with, is the lip oil. I think with this, it’s kind of like the benefit tints where they down, but these are more comfortable but of course everyone’s experience is different. I do want to ask, for the SDJ body oil, was the scent quite light or more intense ? I think that’s what I was intrigued by because I’ve been seeing stuff about layering fragrances with oils and I really want the scent to last 😭

It actually is a stronger scent! Again, it’s the marketing for me for that (along with the price). It would help if you layered other Sol scents for sure! Hope this helps! 💕
