What Other Games should return Following Ninja Gaidens Revival?

With the recent success of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and with the upcoming Ninja Gaiden Rageboud and Ninja Gaiden 4, I have to ask my self what other Ninja titles deserve to be brough back from the grave?

Kya: Dark Lineage, Haven: Call of the King, Sphinx & Cursed Mummy and Malice. Kya especially is a personal favourite and, next to Sphinx, the most solid of all of these. Encourage you to give a try and look into it. Surprisingly in-depth combat system amongst other things. All of them are PS2 3D platformers that have potential that the final products didn't really live up to. Malice especially had a dramatic development history with out-there, cool ideas. Outside of that, very much Rayman and the Darksiders series.For Darksiders i hope, wish and pray for good and worthy continuations and eventual conclusion to the series.

Tenchu 3: Wrath of Heaven is a masterpiece from top to bottom. Would love to see that game get a faithful remake/remaster. The music can’t change under any circumstances. It’s a good 50% of what set the atmosphere for the game.

Tenchu was such an amazing series, I loved all three from the orginal trilogy. IMO they really were perfect ninja stealth games, btw I completely agree the music was phenomenal and really help set the perfect atmosphere.

This comment isn't really tied to your question, but rather to make you aware of other cool character action/hack-and-slash game from recent years and upcoming ones. I'm doing my best to spread word on them wherever possible. - Soulstice from 2022 is a personal favourite, style makes me think a bit of Italian cartoons/comics (such as Huntik) but tone and production values feels more like Darksiders. Lead devs cited DMC5, DmC:DMC and Bayonetta as other inspirations. - Hi-Fi Rush made the rounds back in 2023 and i believe that late last year, messages appeared that there's hope for a sequel. - The amazingly hand-drawn animated metroidvania Cookie Cutter from 2023 has big hack-and-slash/character action-like combat. Another personal favourite, which has a lot more planned for the future. Console ports are said to be out soon. - Magenta Horizon from mere months ago is an absolute phenomenon in just how much it has to offer on the technical aspect that is bound to make nigh any fan of difficult games like Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 satisfied! Going horribly unnoticed when it has *so much* to offer. As for upcoming ones there's - Enenra Daemon Core, - Genokids, - Mightreya, - Yasuke: A Lost Descendant - Jinn Hunter - Morbid Metal (i think) - Captain Blood - and i dare say that IMMORTAL: And the Death that Follows counts too. I'm excited for this one. Shout-out to - Clash: Artifacts of Chaos (more on the God Hand end of things) a wonderful Zeno Clash prequel and yet another absolute favourite that i very much recommend - Decline's Drops - and No Straight Roads too (the final favourite). Which of the games in this list catch your attention the most, if i may ask?

One of the closest things to God Hand by way of gameplay in recent years is the Zeno Clash prequel Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. it's very much its own beast and never aimed to be something like a spiritual successor to God hand, but i can *very much* recommend it for both the gameplay and reasons beyond the gameplay.

When Ninja Gaiden 4 was announced I said to myself that this is going to be "The Year Of Hack & Slash Games". We have Lost Soul Aside, Captain Blood and Ninja Gaiden 4 coming sometime this year. And for all you hack & slash lovers out there... I can agree with a lot of them but Wanted Dead is terrible! Was pissed I paid full price mainly because it was from Team Ninja (at least some of it's developers) Glitches and horrendous camera work ruined it for me I played maybe a couple of hours and was done with it..... Now Valkyrie Elysium 💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solstice was way to repetitive in the fact that everything looks so much the same everytime I'd get to a new area I thought I was still in the area before it! But just my take on it.

Dude, so glad you made this video, I am a huge fan of Tenchu especially Tenchu 2, also all the ones made by the original developers, Aquire Studios and Shinobido. I made a video where I said, every ten, 20 years things repeat, so I think Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro started the huge return to everything Japan based, Ninja, Shinobi and Samurai etc. So wishing on a surprise new Tenchu or spiritual successor announcement. Man, wish FromSoftware just gifts the rights to Acquire. And Takuma Endo must lead the team. Anyway, Great video man. Forgot to add another game series I'd love to be continued would be a new Tomba/Tombi.

@@flexin85 True man, also that's why I am so excited and wanting to play Assassins Creed Shadows, cos finally after a long time you get to play as a ninja. Also love Japanese nature, setting, castles, rooftops, house architecture, ambience and music. These are the things I also loved about Tenchu games, you could explore and hang out in these places. So yes, hyped to play as Naoe as she will give the ninja simulation best. Also I think the AC Shadows developers dropped an easter egg in the early gameplay release trailer of AC Shadows, where the old lady says to the little boy who leads Yasuke to her, " Rikimaru, I wondered where you went." Like all of us Tenchu fans are wondering where or when will the next Tenchu come out. Maybe. Thanks.

​@@AbundanceGaming-g3m Man if Ubisoft is really hinting at Tenchu I REALLY hope they dont screw it up and turn it into an Assassins Creed clone. Not to Knock AC I just want Tenchu to stay true to its DNA and keep what made it so phenomenal in the first place. Plus It would be nice to see Ubisoft Mix it up a bit more, they actually can make good games with they break away from their AC open world formula, for example I think Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was amazing! It is a shame the game just really didnt sale all that well, I think metrovania fans really missed out by skipping that one.

Metal Gear Rising 2 is the obvious choice. I honestly can't think of too many others. We already got Devil May Cry 5, and Bayonetta 3 recently, but more games in those franchises is always welcome. Some people might like a return to form for God of War, but I think the new style is best for the future for the GOW franchise. Some people might want a new 3D Shinobi game, but I think that series should stick to 2D honestly. We're getting a new 2D Shinobi game, and it looks incredible! I'm surprised you didn't mention all the other 2D ninja games coming out.

To be fair we havn't gotten a new Devil May Cry game in six years, while the franchise is not dead waiting over half a decade just to get an annoncement of a new game is quite a long time. It is insane how long on average development time has become for bigger budget titles to get released. BTW I am really excited for the new 2D entries into Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden franchises! However, as for the reason I didnt really mention them in the video is because I felt it hurt the flow of the video. Originally I had many other games I wanted to discuss but while doing the editing process the video just felt overly long and bloated, the pacing was really off putting.

DMC isnt dead but it still needs to come back soon, lol. I'd like to see a metal gear rising with proper weapon switching though, and wall running. They had wall running in older builds they used in trailers but they removed it for some reason, which is a shame since it fits the ninja themes and parkour.

Shinobi 2D Side scroller is on the way 2025 can't wait! Kinda resembles the Genesis original but a bit more up to date with the animation! ​@@flexin85 Definitely 💯 I was going to recommend a game you might not have heard of Hidden Dragon Legend (side scroller) I finally bought it a few days back after looking at it for age's ($20 and never on sale!) it's rated 3 1/2 ⭐s on PS network! I beat it in a couple of sittings and I really enjoyed the game for the most part but, BUT it does have some I guess you could say "Souls like" elements, mostly levels with Trap's, actually I can't say anything else in case you decide to try it but there was some serious issues at the end of the game! Weird thing is it was only on the final Boss?

Fun fact: Sekiro started out as a new Tenchu but fromsoftware being them said nah we need to ram this up & we got Sekiro. I do have hopes since they brought back armored core so who know.

To be honest I am happy they didnt turn Tenchu into Sekiro and instead created a new franchise out of that. Not to see that Sekiro is bad at all it just really doesnt feel like Tenchu, hopefully in the future we get more another Sekiro game while at the same time see a return of Tenchu.

With Konami finally investing in Metal Gear and the success of DMC5 I think it's only a matter of time before they do a new Rising. I would prefer they did the original Rising that was set between MGS2 and 4 but if they did a remaster/remake like Ninja Gaiden 2 black I would take it!

@ while I agree, I still think it needed lot of work to do, weapons like stoneender and whip katanas feel more like tools for rare occasions rather than one of the proper weapons, movement and plathforming kinda sucks at times, bosses feel like chore instead of interesting encounters, checkpoints only at the start and end of level is kind of a bullshit, overuse of quick time events, if fromsoft decides to revisit the game I think they can change a lot with their experience and knowledge

Never understood why MG rising got blasted when it came out, it's my favorite M.G. game and I still own it on 360 and having just went back through Doom 3 I think you just gave me my next replay! I feel like alot off games got treated unfairly during the 360/ps3 era most likely because we used to get so many games it was easier for some games to fall under the radar. Which is really a shame because the gen had a ton of amazing games that got blasted for really now reason. BTW Doom 3 was another one that people critized to harshly as well IMO.

@ GTA6 will release before the Max Payne remakes for sure, unless Remedy does some sort of crazy shadow drop. BTW I agree Max Payne 3 was actually a fun solid game. Its funny I remember standing in for the midnight release of DIablo 3, and there was one guy there picking up Max Payne 3. Looking that one guy was the smartest person in line.

There seems to be rumors that Capcom is working on a DMC 1 Remake, hopefully those turn out to be true, but I would love a DMC 6 as well afterall didnt 5 do good? Not sure why the series has been quite for 6 years now.

@@flexin85 DMC2 is the only game that needs a remake imo. DMC1 definitely shows its age but it’s still a solid game and most of it holds up

@@GRChronicles Yeah Resident Evil is def one of their heavy hitters, but I still feel like their is hope for some of their other IPs to come back. Afterall Onimusha and Okami are both making a return, all we need now is DMC and Dino Crisis lol

It is crazy how Days Gone will most likely never get a sequel, while the game did have some issues I think the devs could have corrected most of them in a follow up title. BTW Tomb Raider needs another reboot, I feel like the newer games are basically a new franchise at this point

I agree I feel like GoW Ascension gets treated like Arkham Origins, great games that get over looked because they aren’t part of the “Trilogy”

man I love Arpgs as well, I have been enjoying PoE 2 and am looking forward to Last Epochs second season. I twould be cool to see Dungeon Siege 1/2 make a return, those games have definatelly been forgotten for some reason.

Isn’t Ghost of Tsushima a good ninja game too? For me it feels like GoT brought ninjas back into mainstream since the 80s-90s. And perhaps Team Ninja got more confident coming back to the franchise after working on Nioh for a while. Not the same combat but since the former head (forgot his name but he’s Mr. Glasses guy) and old devs have left since Ninja Gaiden 2 they were probably earning back their confidence since Ninja Gaiden 3 was trashed on, for good reason. To me since Devil May Cry and Bayonetta have kept character action games mainstream and GoT brought Ninjas back into mainstream that it feels like the stars somehow aligned for them to return with Platinum helping them with the combat in the Ninja Gaiden franchise. If they also come back to Dead or Alice I want Jack from Final Fantasy Chaos to be a guest character😂

GoT is a good game, but no reason we can't have even more cool ninja games in different genres as well. BTW I agree I think Team Ninja needed to put out a couple of good games in order to get to the point were they felt comfortable bringing back some of their older franchises. ESP with all the backlash they got over the Sigma titles and Ninja Gaiden 3. Plus now was the perfect time to bring back a classic Character Action Game, as I think fans have been hungry for one. While DMC and Bayonetta do exist and are great, that is only two games to hold up an entire genre, not to mention DMC 5 came out like 6 years ago....

Hopefully Fapinum games is never allowed anywhere near metal gear again after that affront to Raiden. I think Hideki Kamiya is a monster energy drink can doing an impression of a human being. Revival the original idea with Konami staff or leave it alone. The soundtrack is shamefully stupid.

To each their own, I really enjoyed Rising and actually like a lot of Platinums games. Though I will admit Hideki Kamiya def looks like a guy who downs energy drinks lol. But I do agree it would be cool to see a game more grounded like Rising was when Konami first revealed it, in fact I think it would be cool if they made a Gray Fox game in that style. IDK how we never got to see more on that character.

Tenchu was developer by FromSoft, in fact Sekiro originally started as a Tenchu sequel.
