As a Pakistani what I studied in my history books that Bangladesh and Pakistan were separated due to several reasons not just language bcz of language we actually didn't provide them thier facilities and all the rights and also muneeb ur rehman was thier leader and Pakistani government didn't accept him too so yeah language problem was actually solved in the 1969 article bangali was thier and urdu was our national language according to that and we don't even have land bond so the connection was totally cutt down with them and inda's unnecessary intruption made this matter more worse and then separation happened

I know there would be some controversial comments but the reason Bangladesh separated from Pakistan is because we were treated as a colony of Pakistan, as a 2nd class citizen. Imran khan Pakistan ex PM stated very accurately of why we separated. Imposing of Urdu as a national language in Bangladesh was also another reason for the revolution. Final episode that resulted in Pakistan army invading Bangladesh and killing millions of civilians was because, Bhutto refused to hand over power to sheikh Mujib when mujib won the absolute majority in the election that took place on December 7, 1970 and there was a revolution in Dhaka because of yahya khan’s refusal of handing over the power. When East Pakistan was already invaded by Pakistan army and millions were killed and millions were refugees who fled to india. as a result India intervened and attacked Pakistan army and the war only lasted 2 weeks as 90,000 pakistan soldiers were forced to surrender... At that time, after the fall of Dhaka, the common figure quoted was 3.5 lakh deaths, but Sheikh Mujib, while speaking in an interview (or a public meeting) misspoke and said 3.5 million, which then got stuck in the official narrative. Finally, that figure is really impossible for simple logistical reasons too. Pakistan had about 30,000 fighting soldiers stationed in Bangladesh during the entire 1971 period. It's physically impossible that 30 thousand soldiers could actually kill 3.5 million people. Just do the maths, that would mean every single pakistani soldier must have killed nearly 120 people on average, an impossibility unless every single one of them was some sort of a superhuman killing machine.
