I was not allowed to watch The Proud Family when I was very young because they constantly disrespected the dad and my mom was not about to have that seed planted in me... I'm not mad. For majority of young children, TV is real- it teaches them lessons on good and bad, it speaks about loving family and dreaming big (all lessons they learn in real life) so how can they possibly distinguish that same source, TV, to portray wrong messages: throwing tatrums, not listening to your dad and lying. They biologically cannot, they lack the cognitive capacity. 5 year olds are smart but not that smart. Andd some people who are 7/8 still may have the mental capacity of a 5 year old- not everyone matures according to "the standard". So restricting certain shows and youtube videos may very well save you some headache as a parent when your children start to become to promiscuous from early or start to steal and lie because "they saw it on tv"... Not all shows are squeaky clean, many subliminal messages (not necessarily demonic) that young children cannot detect but adults can. Be keen is all I'm saying :)

I like the intent behind what she did. I think I may do this with my future kids. My MOM was in control of my LIFE and lemme tell you I've done *everything* NOW that she's told me not to do THEN. Parents have to stop being so critical for no reason, it will only make their children explore the Why Nots? She is still salty that I listen to mainstream music--even if it is someone as safe as Sheryl Crowe. I was driving her around in MY car and she went off on me and told me to turn off my music. " *WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO*" I'm a grown af woman! The only part I can agree with is the oujji board thing cuz the spirits are real. I've seen an exorcism before and im NOT talking ab the movie!

I will tell you about an awkward moment when (we're all adults) we went as a fam to see Straight Outta Compton...omg! The cursing was bad enough but were all grown so my Mom don't trip on that anymore but the hotel scene?! Every since that movie I go preview movies b4 agreeing to go w my Mom (if they're rated R). This is why I refused to go see Girls Trip w/her after being warned about the content!

Yes! I remember I had them and a girl told me about the meaning. I was so shocked and she wanted them so we did a trade. She gave me her harry potter markers and I gave her the bracelets. This was 6th grade.

My parents were so damn strict wit me LOL they didn’t let me watch family guy, futurama, South Park etc. Cuz the channels were blocked 🙄 the whole mtv channel was blocked on my tv, and after like 8:00 pm my parents set my tv up to turn off automatically....yeah. I wasn’t allowed to say stupid....I had to come straight home after school, I couldn’t hang at a friends house, nor could they ever come to my house....when I look back it still haunts me. Plus being so restricted made me be sneaky and what to do “bad” things even more LOL so now I just drink, smoke, party, and do whatever I want at my university since I live there now 😁

I wasnt allowed to watch: -Harry Potter (witchcraft) - Lord of the Rings (witchcraft) - That's So Raven (psychic) ... they were all affiliated with demonic activity and when you're young you cannot guard yourself spiritually against them. And no you dont have to get "possessed" like how you see people trembling and foaming at the mouth for the spirit to play with you. Its as simple as being extremely aggressive and constantly being rebellious, being perverted and overly sexual can be manifested. Just be careful guys is all I'm saying. Guard your hearts. No judgement here
@imwaytoshort6 жыл бұрын
Sarah'sDalyLife Just saying I've seen all of those and wasn't possessed so just another opinion. It's interesting to me that as a child I didn't need to be spiritually protected and was fine watching harry Potter and Lord of the rings. Seems abit over protective to me and to much.
@jesscook6 жыл бұрын
imwaytoshort the view isn't that kids will get possessed, it's that those shows may impact their behavior or expose them to dark things. I'm not saying I agree with it completely, but I do think at times there are demonic forces behind normal things that people don't usually consider
@Dan1ella6 жыл бұрын
Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Wizards of Waverly Place, Pokemon lmao the list goes on
@imwaytoshort6 жыл бұрын
Jessica Locy I don't agree that there are demonic forces behind things you wouldn't think about. Children are influenced by multiple things nowadays that have real negative effects on their lives like social media. There are kids who act like adults so to me harry Potter and lotr are books and films that are just that. There's no evidence to suggest watching harry Potter means you will be influenced. Magic isn't real. It's illusions and tricks so being over protective in my opinion is damaging. I don't see how banning something aimed at kids like harry Potter because you should be spiritually protected so sheltering children is helpful or a well thought out idea. I know the difference between facts and fiction.

The Simpsons. Tahaha My momma couldn’t STAND Homer Simpson!!! Back in like 1996 The Rock was still The Rock, and we went to go see him live (he lost that night) when he was still wearing what I call those shiny expensive shirts. He had an elbow pad you could buy that had a button for you to press and it would say the word ass. 🤣🤦🏽♀️💀 The elbow pad said: “...AND YOU CAN STICK IT STRAIGHT UP YOUR CANDY ASS!” My mom had no idea it did that when she got it for my brother. She hated that too, but let him keep it after a couple months.

My parents didn't really understand what we were watching or listening to (They're Central American) so i remember being 4,5,6 and my older brothers blasting Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Dr.Dre etc in our house. 2pac passing away was a big deal and my mom claims that's when she learned who he was because of how upset my brothers got. When we'd go to the Supermarket just my parents, my sister who's 3yrs older, and myself the radio would either be on KLOVE spanish station OR Power106 "WHERE HIP-HOP LIVES" and my sister and i would actually sing along to Warren G's regulate when i was 5. Yet like most Christian households, the Ouija board was never allowed.
