The cafe is so toxic. It’s like twitter ( X) for magicians. It also looks like it hasn’t been updated as far as layout since 1998😅

Agree 100%. Selling stuff you can't do yourself, exposing other people's tricks, it's all the same. Envy. "If I can't have it another can't have it" Remedy : You said it yourself in another video : I do me, you do you. And let them go ..... themselves (that's mine)

I definitely agree and especially with the exposure. They are so many exposure videos of marketed tricks on YT and FB.

Yeah, there is so much crap being marketed though. I don't think that effects being "marketed" give them any special priveleges if they are recycled rubbish. So many effects using double lifts, riffle forces (say stop... there? ... no when I said stop... not when you find the short card, oh never mind). Or simple false transfers, totally obvious card controls. Really lazy overused magic recycled over and over again. Get properly creative. Give us something new. Trying to scam £50 for a riffle force and a double lift is absolute extortion and deserves exposure.

People seem to be threatened by magicians performing on shows like BGT or AGT. There are YT posts on how a magician did a trick on one of these shows. Why???

I for sure don't have the testicular fortitude to go on a got talent show. I have a hard enough time controlling my shakes at gigs :D Sucks to see all these salty jealous magicians in the community. Good on you for calling them out, Craig.

Props on you being able to push through the shakes to go on gigs!! I struggle with pretty bad anxiety and only really perform to relatives and close friends, One day I'll get the confidence to perform at a paid gig, one day... surely.

@@DatH1pster My first big gig I felt like I was going to pass out walking up to it from the car. My brain kept trying to convince me to just turn around, walk away and throw in the towel. It felt like a pain response. I got through it and it gets easier.

I rarely go to Magic Cafe because of the toxic attitude......

The Magic Cafe fighting over what qualifies as a "move" in the Lucky Lotto thread comes to mind.

I read the whole "check" argument on the cafe. You kept saying over and over and over again the same thing...that there was a difference between "check" and "examine". I couldn't believe how many times you had to explain it. It came to the point where these people just seemed to want to fight for the sake of fighting. They could have just agreed to disagree.

Amateur magicians are the reason for negative comments. They’re hacks, nobodies who have inferiority complexes.

there have been some incredible amateur magicans and most professionals that I see are 'hacks'

Go to any Magic Convention mate. Some of the nicest people there you meet are the hobbyists. I saw 2 professionals arguing over who's card to wallet is better in a random cafe in Blackpool. Grow up.

I could give you a list of amateur magicians that would shock you. I get paid for gigs but I still consider myself an amateur because it's not my full time job.
