This video totally made my day! In my free time, I love watching videos of tourists coming here. It makes me happy to see they're having a good time. Thanks for making these awesome videos and being honest about your experience. And yeah, the traffic in Baghdad is insane. We suffer from it too. It's the smallest governorate, but it's got like 10-12 million people living there! It's causing a lot of problems. The only thing that could really save Baghdad is the Metro project. It was stopped for ages because of the wars, but they finally brought it back lately. If nothing bad happens (hopefully), the first part will be done next year. It'll take about 4 years to finish the whole thing though.

I'm really going to miss your travels in Iraq Dave.. I totally agree with you about the people.. their warmth.. hospitality and genuine kindness should put many a country to shame.. I loved the history aspect.. unfortunately so much heartbreaking recent history.. you covered all this with compassion. I'll miss the banter you had with your driver..is it Ali? I really wish you had more subs but that shows me that you are travelling because you love it and not just to promote your channel. Can't wait for your next adventure Dave.. safe travels 👍

I loved your coverage of Iraq, including your interactions with the public, the humor, the food, and the hospitality. The scenes from the marshes of Mesopotamia and the city of Babel were captivating. Iraq's rich history is unparalleled; no other country comes close.

I am from Iraq and I wish you had shed light on civilian life in Mosul, its customs, its people, and how they live now. And how they built their city, there is a different and wonderful life on the other side of the city. Thank you, great content

thank you for your thoughts on Iraq. lived in Basrah for almost a year in the mid 1970s. often spent my day off [friday] sitting in outdoor riverside restaurants playing backgammon with local friends and of course drinking some excellent beer and food. at that time it was a country run by Al Bakr [saddam hussein was vice president] with the internal security set up/trained by East Germany's ruthless Stasi. parents feared that they would be called for investigation as a result of comments by their children in school. locals working for any foreign company had to regularly 'report' what was happening....most people were looking for to escape out of the country. it was a country with very fertile land along the tigris/euphrates, huge oil/gas reserves and by middle eastern standards an industrious workforce - few immigrant workers, and the women were educated and fully participated in work outside their homes. however somehow with an 8 year war with iran, followed by an ill considered invasion of kuwait, two american led wars, un reparations and the sunni ruling class being replaced by shia [resulting in formation of IS and over 15 years of internal conflict], iraq has gone backwards over the last 40+ years. such unfullfilled potential.

Yea it really hasn’t had a chance to progress which is a shame, it has so much to offer
