I think the Tragedy when all is said and done is probably my favorite part of this games lore. The mystery, the impact on Faerghus and characters like Dedue and Dimitri is always great to watch play out. The amount of careful work that was put in to make all of this make sense ontop of mysteries like Patricia was always tense. It made me pretty sad seeing Patricia did indeed play a big part in the Tragedy. Oh and its thanks to your video I found out she died. Good lord man, Dimitri's pain never seems to end lol. Anyway this video was great and talking about the Tragedy is always pretty enjoyable. I thought 3 Hopes was great and think AG was fantastic all the way through!

@Меѳодїи I personally think Cleobulus might be a trans woman who thought her only chance at living as her preferred gender was by stealing another woman's body. If so, it says a lot of terrible things about Agartha.
@MrGksarathy2 жыл бұрын
I feel the Tragedy was in some way an echo of what happened in Zanado about 1500 years prior, and I love how it sets up Dimitri and Rhea as foils. I only wish the two of them could have talked it out in Azure Gleam and even expressed sympathy for each other. Dimitri was very well placed to become the lore lord, but it was wasted. That, and the intrigue of it all is very interesting, and all the pieces involved help fill out Faerghus and make it more alive.

I thought Wind Caller didn't participate in the war (also he looks like a Griffin than a dragon). and the immovable is a turtle, not a dragon (which would be funny if the Immovable One was the first beast we see to get toppled down lel). 4. I'm just surprise that they were so....unorganized. Like some of them were doing things as they please and most of them don't even know who Arval is despite being involved in the battle with Rhea, Sethet and Flayn and the lack of interaction the TWISTD have with Shez. 5. oh i know Byleth talked, is just that i'm not used to Byleth talking full sentences and expressing emotions such as concern, anger, happy and having a good time talking to others. We were told of it and shown glimpses of it, but never have we actually hear them and whether it was intentional to Byleth's character to be such a cold face or not. it's kinda of a retcon since Byelth doesn't express any feelings until reaching Garreg Mach, which they never do. 6. it is a retcon, because there are other people that have stolen relics and for some reason have not turned into monsters. that and Hubert's remark of saying when going through a secret passage and finding annette: "If we strip her down from her relic, we will have a powerful asset".....like why does he say this knowing that a relic without it's crest holder is useless in combat? and the kingdom can easily part ways with the relic, so it's even useless negotiation wise (and the empire is also not looking to do any negotiations with the kingdom either). 7. uhh no, when she turned back to her human form, she was wounded and half dead with soulless eyes. meanwhile in 3 hopes, it appears that the transformation is not permanent till death, it's just trigger switch.

Definitely glad that the developers decided to elaborate on the Tragedy of Duscur in Three Hopes. Personally, I'm taking Rufus saying he killed Lambert at face value, considering just how traumatized he seemed, at the very least, I'd say he was there in person when it happened, with Thales only being responsible in an indirect way. My own interpretation also is that Rufus was disguised as the Flame Emperor, since we also know from Three Houses that Dimitri is convinced the Flame Emperor was the one to kill his dad, despite Edelgard staunchly denying to have done so. Also, the entire conspiracy with the western lords basically happening because they were unwilling to deal with Lamberts immediate reforms seems... strangely close to home, considering how many relatively easy and immediate possible solutions to major problems in our society be brushed off in a relatively similar manner, that things are fine the way they are, that things can't be done immediately, that it's not the way things have been... many people are just afraid of change. As for what happened to Edelgards mother, that is still the greatest mystery about this whole thing, imo. Not necessarily her death itself, if she was really killed by Edelgard or how, but why she had to survive the Tragedy only to be killed off at some later point. Was it only because she was a bridge to the western nobles in the aftermath so TWSITD aren't as directly tied into the conspiracy? Would they even need her as a bridge at that point anymore? Or did she have some other special quality to her? Did she have a Crest TWSITD wanted to experiment with? In general, I don't think I completely understand the timeline and circumstances behind her exile from Enbarr. It'd be great if we got DLC answering the last remaining questions, specifically around Patricia, imo, but personally, I'd consider it unlikely for us to get any more story-DLC, on one hand considering the way 3Hopes' story ends and is structured in general, I see little way for them to add extra-story except maybe some paralogues, or some completely new campaign that'd likely focus on things quite different from what the previous storys focused on, going by the 3Houses-DLC, specificallly probably going more into Shez' past.

With all the Church characters, and so many of them going unused despite having some data lying around in the game and the cutting room floor, I would not be surprised if we somehow got a DLC “church route”, equivalent to Silver Snow. It's made clear that the lords were in trouble more because the trio left the protection, with Claude attempting a strategic retreat and Dimitri and Edelgard following suit. And 3Hopes implies that TWSITD had likely ties with the bandits, so the want to kill nobles might have been their plan. That would fit how TWSITD work: messy and with foolish proxies.

@@0axis771 It is possible that could be true. I've even heard that as a counterpoint, what better plan than to make absolutely certain you're not a suspect by telling Kostas this? I have considered its not *impossible* that the reason Edelgard doesnt do this is because realistically the bandits would possibly attack others who might get in their way. So perhaps its better to do this. Kostas didnt anticipate the Knights of Seiros and is very annoyed by their presence. So chances are if Edelgard mentioned the professor and what kind they are, that might've convinced Kostas to not take the job. Really it would help if we got a simple answer because really any of this could be true. The only thing that is without a shadow of a doubt true is the replacement theory was correct. Part 1 though was fantastic and the BL cast is great, but with 3Hopes actually better clarifying Dimitri’s politics and beliefs, I just wish we got more confrontations between him and edelgard that were actually substantive, ALONGSIDE eventually fighting Thales. Is it at possible that Patricia was replaced by those who Slither in the Dark the same way the original Cornelia was? I saw this because (1) she has an extremely close association with the Cornelia and Lord Arundel and (2) It seems tremendously out of character for her to ry and have Dimitri killed. All of my understanding of Dimitri's relationship with his stepmom was one of genuine love, she was the only mother he ever had. Likewise, Dimitri was the only child Patricia ever got to raise. Even if she did greatly miss Edelgard, do you really think this mother would miss her daughter so much that she would be able to kill another innocent child? That just doesn't make sense to me in addition to all the love she seems to have shown Dimitri in his childhood. So either Patricia is a completely amoral sociopath who will kill and manipulate to get what she wants and callously disregard any relationships she built over several years, or she was replaced by those who Slither in the Dark. Honestly, I find the later much more believable as this sudden shift in character reminds me of how Cordelia's own sudden shift was described when _she_ was replaced.

it is a magnificent video that covers many of the unknowns about the duscurr tragedy, although i really feel that edelgard did not kill her mother. Even though she has memory problems, she remembers important events in her life perfectly, such as being kidnapped, the death of her siblings, the experiments they performed on her, she even has slight memories of dimitri, his words, his dagger, she remembers that he is a boy and where she met him, she even remembers his nickname "Dee". Personally, I headcanon that Patricia was also replaced by one of TWSITD. That would explain why her body was never found (she went back with the Agarthans after the tragedy), since unless she was one of them, they would have no reason to not betray her and have her killed too. That would also be why Edelgard says she never saw her mother again. If they were both Agarthans, it would also explain why she and Cornelia were close. Edit: Plus, at least to me, the whole "Patricia just wanted to see her daughter again" sounds like a cover-up. Not saying that a mother wouldn't, but it seems too convenient given the circumstances. But maybe that's just me.

Can't wait to see Arval lore!
@mr.personalspace78312 жыл бұрын
Gonna have to wait for some kind of lore DLC. All we know right now is that they’re a persona/puppet/incarnation of the Agarthan mage Epimenides, whose ambition is to slay Sothis. Like Sothis, the “core” of Epimenides- likely an Agarthan experiment to create a warrior on the level of a pureblood Nabatean- was implanted into a young Shez… or Shez was born with this core “built into” him. We can assume that, in Three Houses, Shez falls to Byleth during their first encounter. One of many Agarthan experiments fails, Arval fails to wake up, Shez dies, and Thales probably never bats an eye, and the cycle of the world continues as destined- Sothis awakens in Byleth and the Enlightened One brings peace to Fodlan. In Three Hopes, this “Arval” wakes up during this fateful encounter- something which fate deems a sort of flashpoint. The Agarthan experiment is a success, Epimenides is born again with a body of their own, and their abominable power is put into a vessel who, like Byleth in Three Houses, doesn’t know any better. SOMEHOW, Epimenides EXISTS in Vahras- the void between dreams and reality. Wether they have been alive this whole time or in a state between life and death in the all-consuming nothingness, it’s where they exist- they physically exist in the reality of the void, and Arval, Epimenides’s manufacturd “middle man”,can speak to Shez from this place, though they do not have the knowledge of Epimenides. TLDR: Arval is, essentially, an artificial Agarthan equivalent to Sothis, one of the many “failed” experiments of Those who Slither that comes back to bite them in their pale, vitamin-D-less butts, as they tend to do.

Poor Cornelia, Anselma and Edelgard. Cornelia is probably getting known through history as this evil mastermind all because of Cleobulus, and likely erasing the real Cornelia’s deeds of saving the kingdom from the plague. Anselma because she’s been fed lies to, and Edelgard for possibly unknowingly killing her mother due to brainwashing. It would make sense for Edelgard to since TWSITD told Anselma that Edelgard is back at the empire, and what’s a more cruel way than to actually be telling the truth, and letting Edelgard, the person Anselma wanted to see the most be the one to off her?

I think what happens to Edelgard in AG in how she was broken minded & under control by Thales is there for a reason; it's to show how Patricia/Anselma was killed by Edelgard. Cornalia said that Edel killed her mom, Thales says Patricia was "burned in the flames of their ambitions", Thales surprisingly described Edel's experimentations as the flames to burn the false goddess, meaning by creating of the crest of flames inside of Edelgard. We have seen how Edelgard has memory loss after experimentation, we see her in AG also suffers the same after Thales broke her. So the timeline of all this will be something like this: - Patricia goes back to the empire after killing her "fake" family, Lambert & co - Edel was experimented on when her mom saw her again in the empire - Edel under experiments killed her mom but never remembers it, thus in a sweet twist of karma Patricia's is killed by her own daughter while her daughter has no idea Pretty interesting turn of events ig

As to the suspect list; I agree on many of the original conspirators such as Mateus, Gideon, Elidure and Kleiman (by way of Grand Duke Rufus) What I'm doubtful on are the potential suspects of Pryderi, Duval, Enid, and Geraint. In mamy of the battles we fight in Three Hopes sometimes we face said lord of the territory. Count Duval is shown to have defected to the Empire, but I think speculating here is much like Baron Dominic he defected for the sake of his people aa in Scarlet Blaze he's among those who is slain in battle. Another thing is many levels tell that there are many malcontents in the Faerghus military, so like in Enid it's possibly more so rebel soldiers. As again like Duval, Viscount Enid's dialouge in Scarlet Blaze shows she's willing to fight and die for the debts her family owes to House Bladdiyd. Count Geirant falls in that same category of Enid's as he fights for the Kingdom as early as the rebellion of Lonato and Rowe. And he doesn't seem to have any connection to them. Pryderi is the one conspirator I honestly can't figure out. But my guess is more so like Faerghast says it's ppssible Baron Pryderi hels discontent with tbe royal family's reforms. But that's all my two cents. What do you guys think?

Three Houses has a massive problem with never explaining anything. Incredibly important pieces of lore and backstory are often only vaguely mentioned and to even get a fraction of the picture you need to do a bunch of supports, read books and notes in the game, and look at interviews, but even then super important parts of the story are still left incomplete. It's mind numbing how the game could have been released with a story that doesn't even explain events that are crucial for major characters and the source for a lot of character's motivations.
