For all the public comments, I don’t think the trio ever really minded Ben leaving. They probably understood the detail behind it - having a job for 7 years which you couldn’t talk about or use as a reference to gain other employment, with media scrutiny all the time because by the end of it they pretty much knew he was the Stig and were just hounding him hoping he’d put a foot wrong. His time as the Stig was coming to an end anyway, so they might as well make a big song and dance about it because a) it drove a huge amount of attention to TG b) it’s given Ben a huge push in terms of everyone wanting to hear how it went down and c) was probably pretty entertaining to them, as they’ve been known to amp things up for their own amusement when one of them has been in the press. DT is owned by Richard so if there was any animosity they wouldn’t have Ben on.

Get Ben on the eboladrome, but in the Suzuki Liana

The track in question is a difficult one. With it not being an official race track, and more a testing facility. It doesn’t have safety barriers etc, and it actually has a speed limit at certain areas. If we are to drive at any speed in excess of 50mph, we have to have marshals, full medical response and so on. It becomes really expensive! Never say never, but no feasible plans at this stage!
