Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Something I’ve learned from an oil expert years ago was, after washing your equipment, grease every single fitting on the machine, the grease will push out any water that might have gotten into the bearings etc. therefore reducing the possibility of rust forming in the bearings.
@ourcountryadventures
@ourcountryadventures Жыл бұрын
I think his issue is the pressure washer forces/sneaks water past the seal on the closed bearing and then -30c comes along and the bearing seals blow out.
@Kempfkattle
@Kempfkattle Жыл бұрын
I’m sure that is the concern, as with sealed bearings grading them isn’t an option. I was simply sharing a tip I learned from someone smarter than myself.

I just feel like as a diesel tech I need to educate. The more you idle equipment, the more it will need to regen (or burnout). If a unit is working it will make enough heat to regen passively while you're working. So reducing idle time reduces stationary regens. Also regens have little to do with the def system. Regens burn off soot that has collected in the particulate filter. Def is injected after the dpf system to reduce nox emissions

Every time you go to connect a different implement that has hydraulic hoses, you go through the process of figuring out where to connect each hose. If it were me, I would mark the connectors on the tractors and the implements using a common pattern and end the recurring frustration and wasted time.....just a thought. 🤔

2:50 DEF has nothing to do with the cool down it's asking for. The cooldown is, because the machine was burning off all the soot in the DPF (and that gets pretty hot). THe goverment juice is needed, to get the NOx down in your Emissons. Btw, the more you have to idle the machine, the more often you'll have that burn off sequence. In normal operation, you don't even realize it doing it ;) But it shouldn't take that long, that sounds like a sensor issue. I love CatDog, would definitely cuddle :D

why don't you let the kids find the stones in the fields and put in those "mark flags". that would also be a good idea to do for the tractor driver who is working with a ripper. a wooden (pallet) box in front of the tractor with a mess of "marker flags" in it and with every stone that the ripper encounters, stick a flag, then it is only a matter of driving the flags with the rock-picker. which cannot be done with the rock-picker, the flag remains there to check it again with the backhoo . if they are still too big, the flag remains there again so that it is visible to the planter where the large stones are

@@scottperry9581 ok. Interesting. All I can say about is my fields. Most I can point to certain areas that have rocks. Areas maybe football field size where there will be big rock (over 1 ft diameter every 3 years). Big majority of field few rocks bigger then softballs. My target rocks are anything bigger then a softball, will of course grab smaller if I am there. Tillage warns you of big rock. You can dig with backhoe then. Or wait 5 years scratching it till it gets close to surface. Then get a chain hooked to drag it “fairly” easy. I sold my backhoe attachment. I have 3 rocks that I lift up for this fall. Might be ready to remove 1 in spring.
