If you find yourself in Cal for school in the future, you should check out the Hearst Mining Hall building at the top of campus! The study hall gives Harry Potter vibes and it is deathly quiet, with not many people. Perfect for studying 12 hours straight and feeling like only 1 hour has passed.

A very small minority of students are in the EECS department so I wouldn't exactly call Berkeley the university of tech billionaires. A large portion of people at uc Berkeley probably couldn't even get into eecs at uc Merced. It doesn't really matter where those tech billionaires went because research shows successful students who get accepted to top schools but attend lower ranked schools do just as well as their peers who went to top schools. It might have caused some slight hurdles regarding networking for them but with the age of the internet you can network with almost anyone anywhere so that might not even matter anymore.
