What's a Good EA Score? 3 Keys for Evaluating Your Score on the Executive Assessment

The purpose of taking the Executive Assessment (EA) exam is to demonstrate your readiness for business school and help you get accepted to your target EMBA / MBA program(s). But what's a good EA score? Is there an objective right answer to that question? How can you know if your score on the Executive Assessment will meet the expectations of the admissions officers reviewing your application?
In this video we discuss three (3) key considerations that will help you determine what constitutes a "good" EA score -- and how to set a target score as you're preparing for the Executive Assessment. We review the EA scoring algorithm, tell you what Executive Assessment score currently sits at the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles, and break down the score expectations at a range of EMBA programs based on our conversations with admissions officers at those programs.
As the adage goes, it's hard to get somewhere if you don't know where you're going. Step 1 on the Executive Assessment is to figure out where you're going, i.e. what score to shoot for. Is 153 enough to apply to Stanford MSx? Or is it better to retake the exam?

There's not a blanket answer to that question. Stanford generally prefers 155+, but plenty of students get admitted with scores lower than that. So a lot of it comes down to what else you bring to the table -- work experience, resume, essays, academic record, etc. My advice would be to reach out to their admissions office. They're usually pretty forthcoming with their expectations.

Are you asking what the expected EA score is for NYU Stern? If so, their official website is non-specific on the matter: www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admissions/mba-programs/admissions/standardized-tests. Some of our students have been told 150+. You might want to reach out to their admissions office directly, or contact an MBA Admissions Consultant who may have a better feel for their 80th percentile score range.

I saw online that their median for cohort was 155. I will call to see what's their target
